I was born in 88 and I really don't know much about GHWB, except he promised to never raise taxes, raised them, then got usurped
in hindsight Bill has a lot of warts
GW was a dumpster fire
Not even close.
Reagan, Slick Willie and HW were all better
inherited a way worse shit sandwich than clinton, met more opposition than clinton, and still has done a remarkable job without any of the scandal, besides republicans crying about a powerful black man
oh and if you're team reagan lol:
war on drugs
raiding social security
disregarding the mentally ill
disastrous issues that still affect us
well he's not a millennial, so he has that working against him
Yeah Reagan was an illusion
yeah but he made people feel good about being american and stuff
o/u 12 pages
so does barry
Hard to say without him being out of office for some time.
Exactly. My generation isn't old enough to run for president so the answer has to be NO.
not really. pick a criterion
There's a pretty great Dan Carlin rant about the absurdity of the demigodery of Reagan in the new Chuck Klosterman book.
Must say that I enjoyed the passage.
Compared to lol:
Obamacare (Keeping your plan, keeping your doctor)
Continuing to raid social security.
Disregarding islamic terror
Disregarding the mentally ill
Fast and Furious
Increased racial divide
Withdrawing prematurely from Iraq
Disregarding the threat of a resurgent Russian dictatorship
More deportations than any president in history
Failure to hold banks accountable for the 07/08 financial crash
Counterproductive energy policy
I could go on and on
Yes, and I don't think it's that close.
looks like I caught at least a few
It's been documented it's a joke
Oh this is setting up to be a good one.
I don't have a fucking crystal ball. But I do have a history degree. Let's let things play out a bit before making a judgment.
refusing to do anything about HIV/AIDS or even discussing it publicly, making jokes about it
good point. my bad, no sarcasm. I'll still take the pepsi challenge against "fuck those poors" Reagan, "incoherent policy" HW, "fuck Glass-Stegall" Bill, or "unmitigated disaster" W
Making jokes about ISIS
1. Bill Clinton's second term
2. Everyone else
Iran Contra gave us a pretty sweet Nintendo/Arcade game, so I will call that a win.
Farva logging in to vote with all of his accounts
Guess I need to change my opinion.
You misspelled "of all time"
nah goat president is that associate history professor that just got elected in iceland
He stands a good chance considering what preceded him and likely disaster to follow.
I've grown to love Obama... Especially second term Obama.
But it's too early to say. We probably need 15-20 years before we'll really be able to look back and evaluate him objectively.
Born in 1990 so here are "my" presidents - Obama (x2), Bush (x2), Clinton (x2), HW Bush.
3. HW Bush
4. W Bush
I mean, his competition is someone who was a good president but cheated on his spouse in office, a average President but nothing special, and a full blown retard. My vote wasn't really tough TBH
Slick Willy was the best I've seen. Not great ethics but a great POTUS.
Clinton 2.0 (based on expectations)
Sequels suck it seems.
i think Reagan, Clinton, and H.W. were all better.
but, I'm a republican
I knew almost all of those were Farva accounts, but I have to admit that I never would have suspected audrew was one too. Well done, Craig Championship.
For some reason it seems like people have strikingly different opinions itt.
his love of the michael bay transformers movies should have been a dead giveaway
Obamacare alone makes him a disaster. His poor handling of foreign affairs makes him a disaster. His that could be my son crap. Speaking at a cop benefit and saying mother's shouldn't have to worry about a cop killing their son every time he leaves the house. Obama has been horrific for this country. Race relations are the worst they've been since the civil rights era and that starts with Obama's remarks
itt Clinton remains incredibly overrated
The Left's hatred of Reagan is amazing, though. I fucking adore it every time it springs forth from Mick or Chicago Seminole's fingers. IMO, take the Obama win and run with it, you don't have to tear down (oh shit) the Republican.
Obama has been a very good president and I dare say history may look back upon him as a great one. Democrats should celebrate his presidency both for its historic impact and the wonderful job he did in patiently guiding the country back from the brink: We were in the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression when he took over whilst engaged in two horrible wars. He ended the wars and the economy has recovered in some measure due to his and the Federal Reserve's steady guiding hands.
Overall, a wonderful man and presidency.
Now, here is a composite ranking by Nate Silver showing the average rankings of American presidents in what were at the time the most recent (four) surveys by Presidential scholars.
You'll notice that the scholars have Ronald Reagan ranked as the 10th best President of the United States
Reagan was a great president with a lot of flaws :)
How is Grant #23? Didn't the country descend into chaos through the corruption of everyone he brought in?
Barack the Magic Negro
Ross Perot Ride or die.
Without a doubt. It's not particularly close.
Obamacare is a fucking train wreck. No way I can get behind a guy that forced people to buy something.
National debt has multiplied.
8 years is enough to fix some of the basic problems. GW inherited 9/11. Fuck you all if you think he was the worst.
