In the minority I’m sure, but I got tired of all the futuristic CoD. They all felt the same. Even with the jump packs, they got monotonous.
No it will not take over Fortnites stranglehold on the genre but it certainly may make games that are similar to it an afterthought. CoD is still one of the most popular games out there and the actual core community trusts what treyarch does. Combine that with the engine and shooting mechanics and I’m willing to bet a lot of people give this BR a hard look. If it sucks people won’t stay but if it’s even remotely OK (from what I can tell, it’s primary competition really isn’t high on quality) I can see it being problems for the PUBG’s of the world
As a pubg xbox player I am praying for this. If the scope is big enough and the guns aren’t all hit scan then I’ll take a good look at it myself.
Played a couple games earlier and I'm really digging it. I'll probably stream it in a little bit, I'll post the link in here.
Yes that's what it seemed like. I didnt spend much time in the storm to confirm. Did kill a few zombies, but got killed from someone in a helicopter. Not sure how bad the zombies get
I believe Karma could be the star of this game mode. He killed on Fortnite before he got bored and is one of the GOATs on the COD scene.
Anybody else been playing beta? I haven’t played any of the other BR games so I’m not familiar with tactics. - I find myself sprinting across the map in about half the games trying not to die From being out of the circle for too long. Am I doing it wrong? Is there a way to consistently locate your jump so you can play the game without the sole focus being getting to the safe zone? - is there any point to the warm up stage or whatever or is that just meant to get all the players in before deploying? - how do you manage the perks you can pick up? Unless you happen to land where the circle is constricting to it seems like the razor wire and other deployables are useless? - what are the good guns to look for? - seems like a mic is a must have for communication
Sometimes you just get unlucky and end up with a circle across the map. You can land towards the middle to increase your chances of being in or near the initial circle. Landing edges can be safer in avoiding early battles, but also can have you scrambling for the circle half the game (leaving you low on loot and ammo). Just think of it as an interactive loading screen. Not sure what you're asking here. If you dont like a perk you have, or want to trade out, you can go in your inventory and drop it. Also, backpacks allow you to carry more items. I've been using the Titan and ICR. The squad I've been playing with has been rolling with a setup of two snipers, one LMG, and one shotgun. We all have an AR as our second weapon. Also, some more tips. While you're dropping, hold L2 and look around to see if you can tell if anyone is landing in the same map location. Try to see where they land so you can know where to expect enemies coming from. Find Armor and Health as quick as possible. That extra HP can be the difference in winning or losing a fight. Armor can break. Check your HUD after fights to see if it still shows an armor logo (bottom left of the screen, I believe) Don't worry about finishing a downed enemy if it can put you in danger. Worry about the people near you that are up and can still hurt you. Use the downed enemy to your advantage. A lot of times they will crawl towards their squad mates, letting you know where other enemies are. Same applies for looting an enemy. Don't put yourself in more danger just because you want to see what they have. Clear the area before checking bodies. Having high ground is almost always advantageous. Plan your approach of enemies based around the terrain. If it's possible to get where you're going without using a vehicle, do it. They are extremely loud and alert everyone to where you are. Gold weapons come fully equipped with attachments. You can always steal the attachments off of them if you don't like the gold gun. Don't get too far from your group, but also don't stay right on them. A group too spread out is weak, too close is susceptible to explosives damaging all of you. Find a happy middle ground.
Also, they'll have to do something about Level 3 armor. Base HP is 150 (200 with trauma kit). Hp stays the same with each type of armor you get, but there's a damage reduction % if I read correctly on how it works. Basically level 3 armor equates to something ridiculous like 570 HP. Too big of a gap imo. Should be something like Base 150 Lvl 1 225 Lvl 2 275 Lvl 3 325
Another good tip is always have two places you want to drop because sometimes where you want to drop is instant death. Another is know where vehicle spawn points are most likely they will probably be random but usually follow a pretty consistent pattern. I haven't got to play yet because I've been on vacation but I'm guessing you can hold your breath to steady your aim, so learn when you use that and mess around with different guns at different ranges because of bullet drop.
CUtigers came home for lunch and have it DLn. May skip the gym tonight and maximize the one night I get to play it. I might not even shower after work or eat dinner. BlazingRebel that code gave me three extra codes and I have one left if you’re still looking. Lemme know
So I wound up spectating a few matches after I would die to pick up on things. I still have a long way to go in seamlessly using perks and attachments etc but made a big improvement. I would say the biggest thing I learned (unrelated to spectating) is to delay jumping from the helicopter until there is ~ 20 (seconds?) left on the deployment meter and then Superman straight down to a cluster of houses on high ground relatively central. Your jump naturally separates you from most players and your speed to ground gives you a potentially crucial 2-3 seconds to find a gun. In 6-7 games last night I was able to run around and pick up a ton of gear before seeing anybody using this strategy. Anybody know where to find a damn sniper rifle? I now see 1 or 2 people a game where it makes no sense to engage because of the distance.
You can go faster in the wingsuit than waiting in the helicopter, fyi. I usually jump right away, then go somewhere towards the end of the line the helicopters are taking. Haven't had anyone land before me since I started doing that. They have said it was unintentional for this to happen, but they wanted people to be able to go anywhere on the map. Not sure if the patch to fix it will make it into the beta, but they said they're working on it.
