And Mussolini made the trains run on time
Candace Owens approves
I've heard this many times. I assume it was taught in the public schools in the 50s and 60s.
That's what prompted this conversation on the previous page.
I went to southern Italy between my junior and senior years in high school. The first place my dad took me, straight off the plane, after 17+ hours of flying, was a facist bar that had a picture of Missolini standing next to what I can only assume was the owners father or grandfather. They had a plethora of facist tshirts for sale. I had a warm Heineken, and absolutely hated my life the next day with my first bad hangover.
Also beating college kids making out in cars
they were literally the morality police
edit: for their fucked up morals
I am a huge lifelong AU fan and graduate and I am one of those rare fans that has always liked hoops as much as football going back to the Bob Davis teams. The issue is not coaching. You pick any coach on any team in football pro or college, and the results will be the same. The deck is stacked against us unfortunately and each new rule change that comes about, gives more power to the NCAA, the replay booth, the SEC office, TV, and yes refs on the field to control the outcome of games. The reason I mention basketball is the combined Cooper situation and the current multi year NCAA investigation into Pearl. There is no doubt in my mind that the NCAA has decided to do all they can to “clip our wings” and slow down the incredible momentum of Auburn hoops. No other team would face this situation. Is it driven by Bama influences at the NCAA...looks like that is at least a possibility.
Game yesterday: How many times did CBS announcers say in referencing Bama...” well they got away with that one.” ( Several of their big plays) How many times did they say Re AU...”missed that one” or “I guess techniquely that was a tug.” (Bo’s first down run) Each on calls at a key point early in game when we were still in it and starting to move the ball. And “we all missed that one” on Seth’s shirt being ripped off making it look like a bad throw from our QB.
It’s not just AU games. Bama plays with reckless abandon with no real concern from bad calls. If they get them earn them like it’s supposed to be. Targeting no reviews unless game is out of hand, PI? Different rules. Holding? Better be blatant. They are the best team...yes they should be and should be downright ridiculed if they lose one game. Their advantage is that great. So back to my point and I will finish...as long as Bama is allowed to play by a different set of rules the head coach at Auburn will face same situation. The best way to fight them is to unite and stand behind those young men that fight their guts out. And stand behind Gus and our coaching staff that have to face these odds. Get over the fact we pay our coach big money and act like true Auburn family members and be a bit slower to criticize. WDE!
I guess techniquely that was a tug
That third act...
Damn audrew went all out on that post
Not a cult
I don’t stand behind Gus. And, it’s not Alabama that plays by a different set of rules...it’s every team that plays against Auburn that gets to play by different rules
audrew has to be a bammer troll account. He’s just too on the nose to be real
The question to ponder: what have you done (both personally and Auburn generally) to totally and completely deserve it?
It’s a special place...thereby making all other places less than special. What other recourse is there to make up the difference?
Thanks to Emmert and the NCAA tonight is just embarrassing for CFB
Say what you will about sour grapes and O&B glasses but CFB as a product is at an all time low because of the willingness of the NCAA to allow one program to do whatever the hell they please.
CFB has become an unwatchable product. I actually had hope for a competitive ballgame tonight after OSU completely destroyed the clear #3 team of this season and left no doubt that the 2nd best team in the entire country this season was Ohio St.
But when the clear #2 team in the country is not even in the same atmosphere as the clear #1 team in CFB....... we have gone off the rails folks.
Mark Emmert’s relationship with Nick Saban has ruined CFB as we know it. It is despicable, grossly endured and accepted by most, but most of all it is incredible. Incredible that it has lasted long enough to absolutely ruin the sport we all grew up loving. None of us could’ve ever imagined a team going on the kind of run Saban has because we all knew with the scholarship limitations at 25 and with the strong hand the NCAA had displayed against SMU and then again against AU in 93, it just wasn’t possible to build a dynasty.
Who would’ve ever thought there’d be a day when you saw a player’s 30k check on ESPN and not one missed game from that player, not one forfeited game from when they played, and more baffling than that, not one word ever heard about it after being plastered on the biggest sports network in the country.
Even ESPN gave in after that one. They realized that bama brought big money and that would be the last negative piece ever ran on the crimson tide.
I’m not a guy that is well versed in technology and how to research and find certain pictures that you’d like to see. But even I was able to find over 100 pictures of bama players at the same rim shop getting rims and systems for their new Dodge Chargers, and then pictures of Julio Jones with a new 2K$ suit on every time he stepped off a bus, along with every big time bammer with pics at The Suit Store in TTown trading autographs for merchandise and even sometimes trading their SEC Championship rings for certain merchandise. You know, the same things the OSU players were suspended for doing after the 2015 season. These are all things that are just part of normalcy in Tuscaloosa.
I grew up when teams got punished for breaking the rules. I suffered those consequences by having to watch the 93 IB inside Bryant Denny because I as a 17 y/o kid had no other option of seeing it. What we are seeing now goes against everything we ever loved about college football. One team was allowed to go rogue while the rest of us just try to make it interesting. It’s horrible, and I thank God every day for Bruce and basketball.
Thank god for Bruce Pearl who does things the right way.
Yeah so what? We might have just got a NOA and we “self imposed” a postseason ban in hopes that the NCAA will accept that punishment as our team is currently dead last in the SEC.
The mental gymnastics Auburn fans go through has to tire themselves out daily, and I’m sure they sleep quite peacefully being so oblivious to reality.
Shut the fuck up. You work for wal mart. Imagine working for a company that impoverishes thousands upon thousands of people and talking about mental gymnastics. Fuck you.
Sleep well little fella!
I will. You shouldn’t.
Cheer up sport, it’s basketball season
Auburn complaining about the NCAA turning a blind eye to Bama players getting paid when they were the beneficiaries of the grossest payment scheme to win a National Title in recent memory will never not amaze me.
Maybe they should pay their players better than they pay their former coaches
I don't understand the part about suffering consequences by having to watch the 93 iron bowl at alabama. Did auburn get a tv ban or something?
Yes....from the Eric Ramsey stuff.
This post is about football. Please keep basketball out of it
There is not proof to this. Sorry, pal!
Hey your basketball coach is dirty.
Fuck you, you work at Walmart.
I was just responding to the last sentence right above my post
I kept waiting for this guy to allege that Nick Saban is really JFK Jr
Unfortunately I’m still dry after last night, gonna save this for later.
A little too much truth in this post, for my liking.
Started out as a tight end...
Are we sure this pic isn't you? Old Rasputin looking mf
93 iron bowl was played at Jordan Hare.
That dude's Dishonored tattoo had all the RWNJs convinced that the "hammer and sickle" on his hand was proof this was all a communist antifa false flag.
It was not on TV due to rampant cheating on Auburn’s part.
Alabama was allowed to sell tickets to a close circuit viewing of the game because we are a respectable program.
Ahh I gotcha...he’s bitching about watching a broadcast of the game at BDS. Thanks for the clarification.
Alabama sold tickets to watch at Bryant Denny.
I see this was covered by Deuce
That is so sad it's almost cute.
