Thanks man. Pretty nervous to be going back to school, but it's too good of an opportunity to pass up I think. Signing my life away on some student loans next week, so that's always fun.
One of my coworkers went to 5 Napkin Burger last night. They have a few locations around the city. Pretty much a step above 5 Guys when it comes to burger joints. Said it was the best burger he ever had. Their whole menu looks incredible. http://5napkinburger.com/
I go pretty often and its very good.. might go today. Saying its the best burger he ever had though is child's talk.
buddy's cousin works for Heineken in their NY offices...good lord I couldn't believe the layout. Full bar, foosball tables, the whole nine yards. Incredible.
yeah they own Newcastle (amongst others) which has a lot of varieties. I really enjoyed their British IPA. to each his own though
Go on yelp for movers and look for the highest rated. Did this a couple years ago and got a 2 guys and a truck type situation with awesome reviews. Guys were great. Moved 3 bedroom sets, dining, big sectional couch from 34th and 2nd down to the lower east side in a matter of a couple hours and only charged around $500. Flat rate gave us a quote for like $1800.
college aged rumors or whatever were good for me saw this on reddit earlier: https://www.google.com/calendar/emb...roup.calendar.google.com&ctz=America/New_York
Also, parents are in town this weekend. Any recommendations on where to take them for downtown/midtown not-too-crazy-expensive dinners, brunches? Any random museum collections that are interesting?
holy hell where did this storm come from? as someone who hates heat and humidity, it's already shitty enough in the summers out here. throw in enough rain to drown me and i'm fucked. like the noise, though.
family is in NYC for vacation, said it is a downpour and they have been stuck in the NBC building for like 2 hrs
crashing with some buds, ones living in the nyu dorms for the summer and the other is somewhere close to the financial district. already talked to menelaus about grabbing a drink at some point, if you want to join we could make it a tmb party and drink to dolan ruining the internet and such.
Definitely ready to come back in soon, been around a month since I was last in the city. The trip from Stamford doesn't seem like it would be that far but sitting on the train for 45-60 minutes gets old after a while.
favorite restaurant week spots? got a res tomorrow at mesa grill and saturday at fish sounds like we're gonna hit up frying pan saturday afternoon too
Frying Pan I have a Frank Ocean ticket for Terminal 5 tonight but I posted in a craigslist and I'm about to get $75 for it
open bar last night at Gansevoort Park for the Maxim/Microsoft party but I only enjoyed it for an hour :feelsokayman:
99% sure this trick was at the Maxim party last night http://thedirty.com/category/dirty-celebs/elvira/
I can't stand the Frying Pan. Full of douches and completely overpriced. Since I moved to Williamsburg, I've found a couple good places to eat, namely Jimmy's Diner for brunch (pulled pork, egg, and pepper jack cheese sandwich!) and Brooklyn Star for dinner (badass meatloaf sandwich).
Going to Heidelberg Restuarant on 2nd btwn 85th and 86th tonight. Best German restuarant in the city. Anyone ever been?
in Manhattan? TBH, not really. Maybe Boat Basin if you want a waterfront view, but there's not as much space on the water as Frying Pan. I prefer quieter back patio kind of places, like Lunasa on 1st Ave btw St. Marks and 7th. That said, my favorite places overall are the beer gardens in Astoria, preferably Bohemian Hall over Studio Square. In Williamsburg, you can go to Good Co. and play cornhole.
Long time no talk NYC bros. Been going out of the city a lot this sumer...Jersey shore (no guido) , lake George, making a trip home soon. Just got a zipcar membership so ill be taking advantage of that. Places y'all need to check out that I've been to lately: Jacks wife Freida torissi Boqueria gin palace Fatty cue Traif Hotel delmano St. Anslem The Commodore Chavellas Joseph Leonard Nicoletta Prune Beirkraft Boukerie Danji Pylos Baohaus Love boat basin and frying pan for the summer. Standard beer garden is legit too (but douchey).
