y'all been to Tim Ho Wan yet? hopefully the wait died down a bit 5 of us ate some top tier shit for lunch. total bill $80
been doing the airbnb search. slim pickings and the decent one i tried to book in chelsea was "unavailable" per the owner, even though the dates show up as available in the search if we're going to be running around nyc, is it necessary to set up shop in manhattan? hotels are through the roof, brooklyn could be in play. the chiefs/jets game is starting to be less of a priority, although i'm sure we'll still go
Brooklyn and Queens hotels are great. No reason to limit yourself hotel-wise as long as you’re close to the subway
Spend the money and stay in Manhattan. No one wants to spend precious hours of their vacation worried about the god damn subway or spending a fortune on cabs. Staying in Queens is a patently terrible idea.
Id say it depends if you've been to NYC before. if you havent its retarded not to stay in Manhattan, but if you've spend some time there before id say brooklyn/queens is fine.
PM me your travel details and what you’re looking for. I’ll see if I can hook ya up. (Friendly tmb bro reminder that I basically Airbnb for a living)
had a four month work project in brooklyn 6 years ago, i mostly set up shop in manhattan. doubt we'll be doing much touristy stuff this go around. freedom tower and chiefs/jets only things on docket so far. will be spending most of time running around town eating and drinking (essential bars/brewery suggestions?) decided to use SPG points, decide our fate please -sheraton tribeca -four points by sheraton - soho
There's a shuffleboard (Cruise ship version, not tabletop) place in Brooklyn that's fun if you've never been. Royal Palms. Easy to double up with a trip to Dino BBQ (a block away), which isn't as great as Fette or Hometown, but is still really good.
Just spent too much money on tickets for Knicks/Nets next Friday. My buddy really wanted to go to an NBA game.
Got tickets to Harry Potter and The Cursed Child on Broadway for next year Also trying to decide which weird Brooklyn warehouse party to go to for Halloween weekend
edit: just saw the news about the truck attack. me and mine are ok, still hearing from friends. damn.
Went to Lilia tonight for the first time... amazing Ended up with 3 starters and 3 pasta dishes. Came to $170 total with 2 rounds of drinks and desert as well. Favorite dishes and will be ordering again: Cacio e Pepe Fritelle Spoiler Whole Artichoke, Garlic, Mint, Parmigiano, Breadcrumbs Spoiler Mafaldini, Pink Peppercorn, Parmigiano Reggiano Spoiler Rigatoni Diavola, San Marzano Tomatoes, Chilies, Oregano, Pecorino Spoiler Good, but would try something different next time Housemade Mozzarella, Toasted Garlic Bread, Lemon, Bottarga Spoiler Sheeps Milk Cheese Filled Agnolotti, Saffron, Dried Tomato, Honey Spoiler Finished it off with an Olive Oil cake and vanilla/chocolate gelato swirl with salted almonds and candied orange rinds - both were incredible Spoiler Very cool space overall and will definitely be going back ASAP
i think Queen in downtown BK is super good, old school, and easy to get a table. I can think of places I'd rather go for top tier meals but I've never had a bad time in the three meals I've had there
Friend of mine is a master sommelier and knows the chef at lilia. We had quite the meal there. /endbrag
Made alerts on Resy for Tuesday and Wednesday and got super lucky yesterday with getting it booked. Live down the street so might try and come in again soon to see what the walk in wait is like.
Went to Don Angie tonight.. delicious Had the garlic flatbread, tuna carpaccio with veal tartare, lasagna, gnocchi, veal de pepi, and buffalo ricotta caramelle https://yelp.to/qTKq/6VNC3ZvETH Spoiler
Got counter reservations for Azabu next week for girl's bday. Anyone been? I hear nothing but good things and while it's more expensive than what I want to pay, all the review are great.
Fam. Need a french bistro spot downtown that isn’t Balthazar or Lafayette to get some 9pm or later dinner with a group.
