Anyone ever done a cooking class at Eataly? More specifically a pasta making class OR have any recommendations for a good place to do something like that.
Fuku just opened in Brookfield place. Having that available at work is going to be a big fucking problem
Haven't done one at Eataly. I did do a Korean cooking class at ICE. Not much drinking as you cook, but there was wine and beer when it came time to eat. Heard it is different for other classes. Would recommend. https://recreational.ice.edu/Home/CookingClasses
Ended up at Stout because The Watering Hole was filled to cap. Place was packed. Hardly any obvious Eagles fans, but thats who the crowd was for, and they all left as soon as the game ended. I didnt expect that in a Giants town.
NYC isn’t anyone’s “town.” Most everyone is from somewhere else and bring their allegiances with them. Tons of Philly transients too
Yes, incredible time. Bring some cash (<$30) for the costume store thing before hand. (Having a gnarly outfit is part of the vibe). Hopefully your staying in Bushwick or Brooklyn that night, as it’s kind of a hike back to Manhattan, but well worth it.
Will be in town next month for work training (for a week). Will be staying in Times Square — any good recommendations on Italian/Pizza places in that area? Obviously I’m going to get a slice at the NYC pizza place, Sbarro. Anyone been to Gnoccheria? Saw them on Instagram and it seems like my kinda place. Also if any NYC bros would want to get a drink with an Upstater i would welcome that.
Love this place. It's terrible for your diet goals but great food. The staff is just amazing. The owner is cool. I wish I could go more often.
Aren’t they closing down Edit: http://weheartastoria.com/2018/01/queens-comfort-closing-whats-next-relocating-astoria/ Looking for a bigger location
Going to NYC for the second time on Thursday-Sunday. Did tourist trap stuff the first time. We’re going to see Book of Mormon and eat a shit ton of food. Any other recommendations? And will I freeze to death?
Where are you staying? B Side Pizza on 51st and 9th is a good pre-theater spot, as is the pre-theater menu at Dovetail but about 6-8x more expensive.
They tease us with nice weather on a Tuesday/Wednesday and then right back to shit for the weekend Still gonna go down to Chinatown for the Chinese New Year parade tomorrow
any of you guys ever take the day bus up to Hunter Mountain for skiing? i'm beginner level and have heard that it's a good way to learn.
Yea it was like a summer camp theme so I went as a life guard. I felt really uncomfortable riding the subway from Manhattan to Brooklyn in a swim suit in March.
Yes, I occasionally charter a bus to Hunter. They offer lessons and the terrain is not very difficult but it’s fun.
I’ll be back in the city next week. looking for some good restaurants in Manhattan. not looking for anything too up scale but good food in a cool setting. could be any cuisine really i’m just looking for some good recs. pls help a brother out.
Not sure if it has gotten any pub in this thread since I’m an out of towner, but went to the Hanoi House on Ave A and St. Marks tonight and it was incredible Vietnamese.
Has the Poulet en Vessie at L'Antagoniste in Bed Stuy on Monday (which is also BYOB night) and it was incredible. Service there is usually meh, because the front staff is doe eyed most nights, but the food is great and the wine list is exceptionally well priced.
