Grab a Bacon egg and cheese, a gougere, a cruller or three and a coffee at Daily provisions. Jump on the NRQ to 14th and then pickup the F train, which will drop you off at Other Half. Get drunk, go to Hometown, and eat BBQ. Walk around Red Hook drinking Other Half cans and then play putt putt at Brooklyn crab. Take the ferry back to Manhattan and sit up top.
Boston bro but this video brings me back to the summers I used to spend in NYC uptown in the Heights and in Harlem
Love good buskers. Support Miku Yung if you can https://amp.theguardian.com/music/2...-prize-fighter-fame?__twitter_impression=true Guy's voice and story are unreal.
Currently flying to New York for my girlfriends sisters wedding. The wedding is tomorrow and we have no plans for Saturday. I've been to NYC once before and had like a day of touristy shit in Time Square, World Trade Center and shit around there. Trying to decide if we should do more touristy shit, maybe Yankees game or find some cool day drinking spots and a niceish place to grab dinner (leader in club house). We are staying in Brooklyn. Any suggestions?
Stay in Brooklyn Freehold is good for daydrinking. Walk on Bedford street between 1-10th streets and see what looks good at all the bars. Grab a cocktail at the top of the William Vale hotel at Westlight.
Grab an early lunch and rum cocktail at Caracas Arepa Bar, then head up the road to Spritzenhaus and day drink on steins of beer. Dinner spots: Popina (ate there last night and was blown away, plus really affordable wine list for the quality), Locanda Vini e Olii, Llama Inn, Roman's, Ugly Baby, L'Antagoniste, Buttermilk Channel.
I’ll be visiting your fair city at the end of this month for about4 days. Been about 5 times before so feel like I’ve knocked out the typical touristy stuff. I like good food and loose women. Any recs?
Where could I set up my laptop and do some work while watching World Cup games and the US Open on Friday afternoon? Staying near grand central, but I’m open to location because my flight leaves from JFK at 9.
Say hi to Brian. Dudes got a good memory he’ll remember your name same time next year. (if he still works there)
Gonna be in NYC 7/7-7/10. Staying in Chelsea. Down to grab a drink if anyone wants. only res I have at the moment is Per Se that Monday.
It’s so good, but not worth the money to me. Korean BBQ is best a little dressed down and more familial. You’ll love it though, it’s worth the trip at least once
I was debating between that and Eleven Madison Park. Keller was getting shit for letting it drop off lately and has apparently revamped it and they are putting really quality stuff out
Not worth the money and the atmosphere is meh. Only saving grace are the cocktails but I'd rather bomb shoju and Korean beer. Just go to Jongro and you'll be much happier
Oof, fuck, good call. I actually had my engagement dinner there (had been before as well). Okay, I stand corrected. But still, under $55 for the butcher's feast at Cote is unreal.
I think the food at Cote is good but Korean BBQ isn't (and correct me if I'm wrong) a Fancy affair. I prefer the KTown joints and find the overall experience to be way more fun. I do subscribe to the idea of trying everything once so CUgator should do his thing
I mean, it is and it isn't. It doesn't need to be, but it's a concept that can be wherever you want in terms of style and price. To me, I love both experiences. I love spending money on wine at Cote (mark ups aren't egregious) and having a swanky time. Also love getting shitty drunk in KTown and ending up at Suger Daddy's in LIC after too many shots of Soju.
I would go to Le Bernardin over Per Se. Not even close to be honest. At this point I’d go to a place like Pasquale Jones, Simon and the Whale, Nur, Uncle Boons, Decoy, etc before I went to one of the super stuffy places. Cote is fine but our waiter did not know how to cook and overcooked everything.
The wine list at Cote is amazing and the service is exceptional. The food is of course great. Highly recommend.
