I consider them the GOAT band. I would kill to go back in time to see their '77 tour. My favorite member is Syd Barrett, and favorite album is "Animals"
Went to The Division Bell tour at the old sombrero when I was a youngin and it was the best concert I have ever been to.
this is related somewhat..but im def not going to miss the roger waters tour when it comes near this fall..i will pay anything and i will be in that building when it starts
As esoteric and cool as the memory of Barrett may be, dude contributed to two albums... Best album: The Wall Best Song: Nobody Home Best member: Roger Waters (although I hear the dude is a major dick)
Love me some David Gilmore. Wall is the best albumn, Darkside is 2nd. They're earliest stuff is so different from their late stuff. Some of their early stuff (Bike, for example) sounds almost like the Beatles.
Wish You Were Here is my favorite album from start to finish. Saw Roger Waters a few years ago when he was performing Dark Side of the Moon. It was amazing, but I'm more of a Gilmour fan.
David Gilmour is a top 10 guitar player of all time. Dark Side of the Moon is my favorite album by them.
You are in need of a serious attitude adjustment, young man. You better get your priorities straight. And watch out for that other crowd you're running around with. Don't think I haven't noticed.
Aerosmith Tickets coach. Top Priority of the Summer. Seriously though, Pink Floyd is one of the greatest. Going to see Waters do "The Wall" live in Atlanta pretty soon. If it even comes close to The Wall Live in Berlin then it will be the greatest concert I've ever seen. Can't fucking wait.
Yeah I know it's cliche, but just have always really liked that song. that being said, I'd rather listen to the whole Dark Side of The Moon album then just Wish You Were Here.
My buddy just fucking bought like 12 of them and expected his friends to get them. I mean, I wanted to go but I sincerely regret saying yes because the tickets are ridiculous.
mein personal favorite of theirs is Momentary Lapse of Reason..... Sorrow-Pink Floyd "the sweet smell of a great sorrow lies over the land.....plumes of smoke arise and merge into a leaden sky....a man lies in dreams of green fields and rivers.....he wakes to the morning with no reason for waking" Hell......Yes.....
Chock full of "we don't like oriental sentiments".... "...never had the nerve to make the final cut.....and through the fish eyed lens of tear stained eyes....I can barely define the state of this moment in time"
top 3 favorite band. Dark Side is the GOAT album. Favorite song is tough to choose.. probably one of Time, Young Lust, or Fearless.
indeed.... Pink Floyd - Empty spaces/Young lust the song building.....and the Marching Hammers..................the 2 flowers...........
David Gilmour did Comfortably Numb with Roger Waters. Sound quality isn't great but here is a link http://www.relix.com/blogs/picks-and-pans/2011/05/12/roger-waters-with-david-gilmour-comfortably-numb
Dark Side is the GOAT Album. My personal favorite is Animals. Favorite song is also Fearless, I'm a big supporter of Liverpool and the end of that song kills me. Its hard though to just pick one song. Saw Waters on the DSOTM tour a few years back at Verizon Wireless in Indy, greatest concert I've ever seen/will ever see. Unless Gilmour/Waters reunite and go on tour.
What about David Gilmour, I hear he's pretty fucking solid too. And yeah, Randall Pink Floyd was one of the better characters in Dazed n' Confused.
The Wall Tour I went to a few months back was seriously the best show I've ever seen, and I've sat front row at the Who.
Pigs(three different ones) is my favorite song but its really hard for me to say just 1 in my favorite. I also love Time, Shine on you crazy diamond I&2 bak to back. My favorite album is The Dark side of the moon.
The first album that I ever bought with my own money was "Dark Side of the Moon" when I was in the third grade. One of my uncles got me into a ton of classic rock groups at a young age and Pink Floyd was always one of my favorites. As for songs, Another Brick In The Wall(Part 1) As well as "Have a Cigar."
Went through a phase at like age 14-16 where 80% of my song rotation was Pink Floyd. Everytime one of their songs pops up randomly on my ipod, it reminds me of natural ice and young vag. Those were simpler times.
The Thin Ice, Happiest Days of our Lives+brick 2, and Empty Spaces+Young Lust are also among their finest of offerings
