We’re staying in Lake Butler so we’re definitely outside the city, but our flight doesn’t leave until Sunday at 9 p.m. so we want to catch a Jaguars game and explore Jacksonville for a bit.
I'll mix it up & maybe surprise you: Hawks11 Hit up Riverside & 5-Points area. There are too many bars & restaurants to list. Just across the river from Jags stadium... it's the art/hipster district Kickbacks Gastropub - There are only 2-3 bars in the country with a beer selection that comes close. Neck beards travel across the country to visit. Eat there at your own risk Carolina Jax - https://carolinajax.com "Best Burger in Jax" ( it really is dblplay1212 ) - hole in the wall / dive with insane burgers. Pretty certain Guy is filming DDD there tomorrow. It's fucking legit & in the same area. Silkie's Chicken & Champagne https://meetatsilkies.com/eat - Bad ass soul food - Celebrity Chef... Oprah flies him in every thanksgiving to cook for her family.
I don’t want to make excuses for Trevor, but the combination of our receivers and Bevell is not even giving him a chance.
I know no one cares and probably didn’t watch the game today, but I just have to get this out into the universe. Jawaan Taylor is the most frustrating Jag that I can ever remember. I mean holy fuck, it’s remarkable how awfully his penalties are timed and how he’s just generally awful in pass pro while an absolute monster in the run game.
Obviously Trevor misses throes like any rookie QB, but this is just one in a thousand examples of how it’s impossible to look at his numbers this year in a vacuum because our offense is a fucking disaster. We’re talking about losing Jamal Agnew like we lost Calvin Johnson…Jamal Agnew is a punt returner that became our best offensive weapon because our team sucks.
TL publicly telling Urban to put James Robinson on the field. https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id...-benchings-tells-jaguars-coaches-got-the-game
Some good comments in there. I would agree that the receivers have been trash. Have to be the worst WR group in the NFL. Funny that he’s calling out all the assistants as losers when he’s the one who hired them. I was pretty underwhelmed by the staff when it was announced. And he certainly has something against James Robinson and loves Hyde bc he’s a buckeye even though Robinson is 100x the player Hyde is. Every year I think the jags have to get a little better yet here we are again. This year’s offense might be the worst in recent memory.
Surely Shad Khan will correct his mistake in the off-season and hire a real nfl coach. Jk Shad will probably fire Baalke and give urban a raise to be GM and coach.
Will be fun to see a city full of month-breathing Gator fans, that were over the moon when Urban was hired, rewrite history & backtrack. The prophesy has been fulfilled. Such a beautiful disaster, from day 1
Weirdly, I feel as if Shad cares about Fulham more than the Jags. A decade of terrible back-office & coaching hires
Shad is going to insist on someone who has experience as an NFL head coach, isn’t he? Instead of getting Leftwich or Bieniemy, we’ll end up with Jim Schwartz.
100%. Pretty sure he’s been a trash owner of Fulham too but they’re at least in London vs Jax. He probably just likes being in the NFL owners club
They haven't been bad with Fulham. They made it up to EPL & dropped immediately back down the next year, but that's pretty typical. They are sitting top of the Championship & seem likely to get promoted again. They seem to be primed for an extended stay up next time, as they've been pretty smart about player acquisitions, and weren't forced into a fire-sale once demoted.
I guess I haven’t followed them too closely but they were in the premier league for a decade straight until he bought them and then they were shit although maybe that was going to happen either way. Maybe they’ve finally turned it around
17 years living in Jax now & it's like clockwork... Queue another 6 months of hype & excitement, until the start of the new season & losses accumulate.
I actually think this is a good hire, but it's amazing seeing fans rationalize every terrible move. Meyer was
It was pretty depressing yesterday thinking about how awesome burrow is and the turnaround the bengals have had and then thinking about how we have probably ruined Lawrence already
He's not ruined...but we absolutely have to start providing him some weapons. Chark and Etienne missing most of/the entire year and then Shenault being asked to be a WR1 and getting injured was tough.
He is wreaking havoc on the line and given every other player a chance. Gotsis’ sack was directly from Walker’s pressure. Not even to mention Lloyd is playing lights out now that he is finally healthy and knocking the rust off. This draft and FA is paying off…so far. We are still the Jaguars so expecting the worst, but the division seems like it is up for the taking.
Travon and Devin have been pretty damn good so far. kirk has been great too, and I was pretty lukewarm on the signing. Next couple weeks are a little brutal, but we’ll know if they’re contending if they can win one, as the division appears to be complete trash.
Texans, colts, giants, broncos with 3 of those at home is going to decide if we’re jagging off again this year or playing for the division. Colts and Texans are not serious teams and the titan window with an aging Henry and Tannehill not having play action to AJ brown wide open is slammed shut. Their defense is nice though.
