I saw casual and immediately thought of buckets and a bib. However, palm valley fish camp is pretty casual considering ponte vedra/palm valley. I mean I would consider the julington Creek more casual, but you have rich white ladies on million dollar homes so you can throw some extra stuff in the menu
Oh I know. I "think" the pvfc charges more and serves a slightly different menu, but I they are delicious.
Same pricing & 90%+ of menu is identical Safe Harbor fit the original description the best, but it's 20 minutes away
Gotcha, last time instead at palm valley my MiL said it was different and more expensive but could have been just a standard price increase since they last ate over 1.5 years ago
The location, on the Intracoastal, would merit higher price IMO. I actually thought you were right & had to check
Lol didn’t realize the PV/Jax food scene was so contentious. Appreciate the recs, we’re headed to Palm Valley FC because it’s close and I’m kinda lazy/have a buzz from golf this afternoon. Can confirm wearing shorts, t-shirt and flops so I’ll let them know Jorts from the-mainboard.com sent me if we catch any flack.
We have a #Florida Gators fan looking in the Nocatee area. I’ll let him choose if he wants to be outed as cunty.
Get them to take you to Llama, the next time you're in town. It's a little Peruvian place, a block away & one of the best restaurants is NE Florida
Take that water way way 3 miles south and you'll catch me on the kayak. Thanks nocatee for your cdd fees allowing me to have a kayak launch. That or st. John county. But fuck you sell Webb old people for complaining about dust and having the road closed for paving
this post tells me exactly who it is. He’s who I picture living there. In all fairness, I get wanting the school system and amenities. I’m much more Jax Beach than PV. 3-4 of the people I know that lived in Nocatee sold within two years. Brand new houses were falling apart.
Nocatee is suburban hell, filled with golf cart driving families & Stepford wives. It's swampland, miles away from anything. But...There is little to no resale home inventory in NE Florida, coupled with droves of people moving here daily. The schools are great, here was room to build & Nocatee filled a need. I get living there, if you have young kids, but we couldn't do it. Ended up in Ponte Vedra Beach, 2 blocks from the ocean. Will be here until daughter graduates from PV High, then will be neighbors with killrbee7 & BobLoblaw in Jax Beach
Gonna be weird not having someone slide into my DMs saying they saw me out and about but not saying hello irl.
I think we will move out towards PV maybe in few years. Was our first house and like it, but have already learned a ton about what we would likely do different.
I get why some wouldn't like Nocatee. If the schools were the same everywhere, we'd probably live in San Marco bc we love the old houses or at the beach. But they aren't. So it's buy a lesser house and pay for private schools or live in St Johns County. The draw for us to Nocatee is that all of the kids stay in the same zone. So all the kids from the elementary school go to the same middle school and then the same high school. They don't get split up with 1/3 going to one school and 1/3 going to another. For a kid without siblings, that's a plus.
Yeah we are currently zoned for school's out past nocatee even though they are closer bc if the nocatee zoning thing. However, there are plans to build a school in our neighborhood once it's 25 percent capacity which is still a long ways away.
Unless the kids are all shitheads, then you're stuck with a graduating class of shitheads your entire school career. As someone married to a teacher, I'm in no way advocating for Duval county public schools. But she teaches at a private school now so...
If I ever move back, I’ll have to do the ponta vedra area, just for the schools. Nocatee will never be my cup of tea and I never want to deal with HOA’s.
You can always just bus your kids 45 minutes away to the worst area in the city to go to a good public schools. That option was too good to resist apparently for my parents.
