When it was Bortles 1st season in the league, I said exactly the same thing... "give him time." Bortles is in his 3rd year & is what he is. Fowler is crazy athletic, with a high motor & work ethic... He didn't play DE in college & I've yet to see him partying in Jax Beach, so he gets the benefit of doubt
Well he's also coming off of acl surgery which is kind of important for a pure pass rusher. I think it's pretty clear that ngakoue has been much more impressive this year though.
I've never seen an OL get pancaked like Linder just did. Good lord. Straight back onto his ass and the DL just fell on top of him.
I've lived here a decade plus , don't love NFL Football & on the verge of joining you fuckers as a "Jags fan". I feel as if I'm invested. Will you accept me, if I denounce my Indy roots/fandom? Please check one: Yes No Maybe
Man, Bortles MIGHT be worse than Brock. That was a game of terrible quarterbacking. It sucks to see such a talented roster not put it together. Gotta think Bradley is done now.
Switching teams as an adult is not allowed, especially after you've spent 10 years enjoying the Jags losing more than you've enjoyed your Colts winning.
Bortles telling Rich Gannon he's not a natural thrower of the football is so telling. Bortles just has a quitters attitude with a losers work ethic. He's an excuse maker and will be out of the league in 2 years. Start Henne.
Signing Bortles to a new deal would be infinitely worse than Romo on a 2-year deal. Both are very bad ideas for you though.
Well he is signed through next year and has a team option for 2018 I believe. I can't imagine at this stage an extension is in the works.
Yea they'll have to decide prior to next year if they want to pick up his 5th year. That should tell us a lot about what direction they are going.
I have a friendly wager on Gus Bradley first coach fired. Are they ever going to show this bum the door?
If they haven't fired him yet, he will probably get the rest of the year. They're dead to me until the draft. I'm not wasting any more sundays watching this horseshit team. Welcome to the club, Jorts.
I can't lie, I'm now happy that we didn't renew our season tickets this year. We didn't mean to not renew but I can't say I've regretted not being at a single game this season.
We are likely bailing on next season. We were thinking of grabbing a couple extra but I season off looks like its in the works.
My folks and I did a 3 year extension that expired at the end of last year. I thought dad had extended, he thought I had. Neither of us were overly upset about it and now I'm thankful it happened. With season tickets, you feel like you have to go bc you've already spent the money on the tickets. It's just a miserable experience going to games when you have zero chance at the playoffs. That's any week past week 1 for us. I'm not asking for Super Bowls, just give me a few meaningful games.
A friend and I each bought a ticket in the west club. They are next to one another. Usually we attend together but sometimes I will take my wife and sometimes he takes his wife. It's nice not feeling obligated to attend every game or buying my wife a ticket when she really only wants to attend one or two game a year.
Early this season I thought about doing that next season. It'd be nice to have a pair to go with my wife, give to my folks, go with a buddy, whatever. When they are this bad though, nobody wants to go. It's a waste to have them. Hell I can buy them cheaper around the stadium prior to the game.
I told myself early this year that as soon as we didn't renew the Jags would be good and tickets would be hard to get.
I took last week off from watching and honestly had a great weekend. Why the fuck did I decide to tune in today? This team can truly find a different way to lose every single week.
Just came to a realization while laughing at Jags stats with some friends. All the derpy Jags fans that wanted Tebow to come to Jacksonville have kind of gotten the 2011 version of him, in Blake Bortles. Three and a half quarters of shit, 7 minutes of Hall of Famery, only with drastically worse results...and an only slightly better throwing motion. Spoiler If that's not enough to put dbl right over the edge, I don't know what else to do
The end of that game was comical. A 61 yard FG attempt on 3rd and 20? What? If you were going to kick the FG early, why not a 1st and 10 try from 51? Even attempting a 61 yarder there is dumb. Use 3rd down to get 10 yards and out of bounds. Then try the FG.
I didn't make it to the end. After we scored then gave up a TD on the very next drive and did the 3 and out dance a few times I just moved on with my day.
I skipped the game and went to teh golf course expecting to listen on the radio. Couldn't get the game over the radio. Was not disappointed.
So, I received an season ticket holder survey over email last week. Some of the questions were comical. On a scale of one to ten with ten being very excited and one being most disappointed, how do you feel about the Jaguars playoff chances. Seriously. The only reason I entered "1" was because I could not right in "get the fuck out with this shit."
To add to Duval's tweet. Cleveland won their last home game(or any game, to date), the same week the Jags did.
The long cat tweets of Gus' game by game record are so hilarious and depressing to me at the same time
