And not throwing interceptions. Basically the vanilla QB Saban creams himself thinking about.
Marshall wasn't a very good passer, but he was never really asked to be. Given how many fewer attempts he had, comparing his and Hurts's numbers is apples-to-oranges. Marshall was still probably a more capable passer than Hurts.
itt bama fans just repeat each other in ascending tones
Still had a better completion % and fewer INT while YPA and QBR were close.
I'm just saying that for AU posters to act like Hurts couldn't be just as successful in that type of offense is them wearing orange colored glasses when talking about Marshall's passing ability.
Thinking about it more, Hurts would be like a deer in headlights going from the bama o-line to ours.
QB, Running Back, Tight End, and Outside Linebacker are the positions people in this thread have proposed that Jalen should play. Any others I am missing?
I’d be curious to see if he could play strong safety
i think jalen has a bad case of the autism
he'll make a good coach
Quit trying to overcompensate because you were still arguing that Jalen was a good QB going into the title game.
I’ll do whatever I want, thank you very much
Jalen sucks; quarterbacks have to be able throw the ball and he can’t
he can throw, in fact, he's thrown the ball almost 700 times in the last 2 years. there's even video evidence if you don't believe me.
QB’s are supposed to psss the ball?
#Alabama Crimson Tide
I think I speak for most of our fans when I say: Y-I-K-E-S
I am excited to see how this plays out.
He should transfer to Florida
I like Jalen and all, but there’s not much gravity behind any threat, implied or overt, he may make to leave. He was soundly outperformed by our other freshman QB in the spring game.
He's literally saying he's not trying to leave because he's about to graduate. He's also saying its weird that the staff isn't even talking to him about it, and he's right imo
I figured the implication is that he’ll leave after this year, but you’re right.
Either way, I definitely am not a fan of the overall tone of that interview. Not saying it’s his fault, just that not much good can come of it.
Credit to Hurts for waiting for this time to give a calm and measured response instead of popping off on social media or something. Continues to handle things in a class manner.
I for one admire Jalen’s courage to speak out against this glaring injustice
So he is going to try to redshirt this year then transfer with 2 years to play and be eligible immediately?
No way he redshirts
Think he plays more than 4 games? Not high on tua?
I would if I was him, to be perfectly honest.
Mostly mop up duty
That's pretty garbage if they'd burn his redshirt in 5+ games of mop up duty
If I’m Mullen I’m trying to get him to UF ASAP
Greg McElroy made this argument a few weeks ago and it makes the most sense. If he knows he’s beat then he shouldn’t play more than four games. Play Tua and let Mac Jones handle garbage time. Only play Hurts if Tua gets hurt.
These two quotes don't add up. Either they didn't talk about it or they talked and Jalen said he was staying. It's one or the other. Both can't be true.
It's the way you should treat people. Don't put him in a position where he has to refuse to play at the end of a shit game because he wants to actually play a full season of football
I think most of our fans feel the same way. Plus that would mean more Tua so we’re all for it.
I want to laugh at this, but I know he'll end up on our roster when I do
He'd be great for Auburn
Him going to auburn and having a sensational season that ends with a showdown vs Bama would be heaven for the finebaum show
That's the wet dream going around the Auburn message boards right now.
It'd never happen though. We will likely take a step back next year replacing our front 7 on defense
Also Saban: Talk shit about a current QB claiming he was unsure if he'll be on the roster for the 1st game
Honestly I'm not sure what he means when he says "narrative". I don't think anybody's opinion on the QB battle is based on anything besides the play of the two guys. The last we saw one he was leading a near-miraculous comeback in the national championship while the other looked tight and got outplayed by the third-stringer in the spring game.
Am I wrong?
Jalen has looked like absolute dog shit in every spring game he's played in
Probably the part where the head coach said he didn't know if Hurts would be on the opening day roster.
Jesus, so fucking sad.
Saban is a piece of shit, he could’ve handled this situation with class.
I have no idea how you guys think, he recruited him and now he is just getting rid of the guy. It’s shady as fuck.
Getting rid of him? What?
