I’ve only really caught up on his stuff recently. The CNN stuff seemed really weak because it was like interns and low-level guys editorializing. This one today, however, seems pretty eye opening, regardless of his schtick.
I imagine that there are a lot of juicy stories that don’t ever get to print because the company can’t get enough verification to run them. I don’t think that there’s necessarily any malice behind that hesitation beyond not getting the bejeezus sued out of them and having their reputations ruined.
Again, I imagine people regularly threaten news agencies when they are told that someone is working on a story about them being a pedophile. I assume this is a regular part of news reporting. If ABC had enough to actually run the story and didn’t, that’s bad but I don’t think you can make that determination from a Project Veritas video.
Might be an issue on your end. Showing up on multiple browsers (FF, Chrome, Opera) when not logged on to TMB.
His big expose was getting into a planned parenthood and editing footage to make it seem like PP was selling baby parts iirc A scumbag of the highest order
edit: for some reason the direct link to the npr article wasn't working right https://outline.com/h4qFTd The pertinent part about why ABC says they couldn't run with the story three years ago: Spoiler On April 6, 2015, U.S. District Judge Kenneth Marra ruled that Giuffre could join a legal action against federal prosecutors. She accused the federal government of acting illegally by striking a deal allowing Epstein to skirt federal criminal charges without informing her until after the fact. Yet Marra also ruled that many of the specifics of Giuffre's allegations — whom she accused Epstein of trafficking her to and for what sexual interactions — should be struck from the record. According to a network executive, that put a far greater burden on ABC's reporting team, led by investigative producer Jim Hill. When allegations are contained in court documents, they are generally considered "privileged" under libel law — giving journalists latitude to report accusations accurately, whether or not they have been substantiated out of court. Once those details were removed from the formal court record, ABC had to corroborate Giuffre's claims more concretely, on its own authority, the executive said. And in subsequent court filings, Giuffre has amended some of her recollection of precise dates and details in her allegations of activities that occurred close to two decades ago. "We would never kill a story about Bill Clinton. Or we would never kill a story about Prince Andrew. That's what's ridiculous on its face," Vlasto, the ABC News investigations chief, tells NPR. "That's a great story. So if we could do that story, we would have done it!"
So what you're saying is, O'Keefe just might be someone who has a long history of selectively editing out context to paint a very particular and very innaccurate picture. I guess it works, though. Lots and lots of people are too lazy -- usually willfully so -- to check sources and do their own fact-checking.
Absolutely. Will be interesting to see what ABC releases in 2020 since they’ve been on this pretty hard for a few years.
o'keefe is a fucking grifter piece of shit but i still think that this particular recording happens to paints a fairly accurate picture of mainstream media attitudes towards epstein
Lol that a project veritas believer was whining for me to be banned. Hopefully you’re caught in a house fire for the good of humanity.
Like I said, I just caught up on this guy and who he is. The CNN stuff was a waste of time. I didn’t really care what the source was for Epstein stuff because I just want all the elites to have to answer. But given what everyone explained to me, his content needs to be taken with a large grain of salt. I also don’t really want to die and don’t wish any harm on you, but do your thing, dude.
The mob is fickle, brother. He'll be forgotten in a month. Seriously though...it's a case of perpetual line-stepping and habitual shitheadedness. I'm fine if people think he shouldn't be banned. I'm just sick of him going out of his way to antagonize and be shitty to people and having to read about it.
DQ continuously said racist shit and never felt bad about any of it. He should have been bounced during the purge for his inability to turn off his shitheadedness
It's a real shame it took the pathetic mods at this site (the collective bravery and courage of that group took a hit when devine left their ranks) this long to ban that fucking lunatic.
what have we become as a board if you can't use racial slurs for years with impunity and tell firefighters to die in house fires
Jokes on him. Like, 4,000 of our 4,400 calls a year are EMS so I’m more likely to get killed on the freeway by a texting driver so HA
