The strategy has popped up since the late 90s iirc. Big Dick Rog did it as well.
Chu wasn’t the first guy. That play style has been around for a long time. Chu was just the most successful with it until James
It’s a high risk high reward style and it has a degree of luck. Not only do you have to find the DDs but you have to get them right and you have to have gotten enough answers right beforehand so you have enough of a bank to take advantage of it. Most people who try never get to take advantage of it
unreal. I honestly might unsubscribe from their newsletter
It was the Forrest bounce
the "it aired in a single Alabama market" so now we can spoil it is so fucking s tupid
alabama ruins everything
Robert Raiola, director of the sports and entertainment practice at PFK O’Connor Davies, said that federal and California taxes will trim Holzhauer’s net winnings to $1.29 million, a 47.6% haircut.
Poor guy. Do you think his family will be able to survive?
Assuming that we are talking about the practice of searching out the DDs and not the high wager strategy, that's wrong. There's huge value in finding the DDs even if you know nothing about the category as you prevent others from getting the DDs.
Well that’s disappointing
He seemed slow, maybe this was the last taping of the day and he was tired. DD placement screwed him too. Was Alex emotional at the end?
It was the first. It's Monday
That girl was good though. She played smart and was really good on the buzzer.
I don't like that the DD she doubled up on was a "letter" category, those are too easy for a DD. Sucks that James lost not missing a single clue
And he got the first three right in that category. Then she got the DD there
1. Why’d James pussy wager on FJ
2. Who didn’t know cigarette tax
Yeah idk why he didn’t go for it...I guess he was just hoping she’d get it wrong, but you gotta go all in and hope she went pussy on the bet (which she kinda did)
She was good but having a strong 3rd player helped too.
It was the correct wager. He couldn’t chase her down if they were both right, was going to be enough if he was right and she was wrong, and was small enough in case they were both wrong and third place was right.
I got the cigarette question right. Top 5 moment of my life.
Heard enough from James. Let it go man
Bad take right here.
Would’ve love to see him bet it all and win at the end.
Someone tag me when champions starts
I thought his wager wasn’t even enough to surpass her total, pre-FJ
He would've lost by $1
It wasn't but that didn't matter
If you’re a fan of jeopardy, do you watch for the people or for the trivia/mental challenge? I watched to try and get smarter and to appreciate people way smarter than me. James made it fun and relatable. He was fun to watch imo.
damn the daily motion link got taken down
I thought based on her wager he would’ve won.
He had to assume 3rd would get it right if he missed. She did the same. Which is why they all bet weird amounts.
All three of TMB’s favorite players lost to strong women: Ken, James, and Delap.
that was a great episode. bummed it was spoiled but everything these days is spoiled.
I watched without it being spoiled. When she went for the true daily double to get the lead, I was very impressed. When she only bet 3000 on the 2nd one, I figured she missed her chance to close him out. But as mentioned, she was on the buzzer like a champ and the 3rd place guy also chewed up some of the money James needed to get the lead back. Just a crazy coincidence that he fell on the night most expected him to snap Ken's all time earnings record.
Long live the king Jennings.
Nope. She bet enough to double him plus a dollar
god do you ever just shut the fuck up, dude
Jennings gang where we at.
Death to the false God.
Really cool to see the intelligent tv trivia robot actually be down to earth IRL and handle defeat with humor, grace and class
