I thought he was going to win but he looked like he'd lost a step in the exhibition match. Clearly didn't hit the gym in the offseason.
That is why the bye for Amy, Matt, and Mattea was bogus. The TOC matches up the best of the year. They should've earned it like everyone else.
I only saw the game Thursday and Matt looked like he had no desire to be there. Throw in that week final jeopardy bid, and it was rough to watch
Amy stunned too. Could've/should've won it then with the bet. Andrew missed a few all-ins, may not next game.
I liked the last guy that made it to the tournament of champions. Couldn't stand this guy and glad he lost tonight.
That dude was most assuredly somewhere on the impacted spectrum. Everything about him was annoying, that stupid face he makes when thinking, and his celebrations especially.
Catching up on shows, just got to this week. A three week tournament of former high school players? Seems kind of lame to me.
The questions seem very easy. I was smashing those Gen Z bitches. Also, don't like Mayim as she seems smug.
What an epic fail tonight. Challenger at $21k with returning champ at $7.1k and gets the second daily double with only 6 or 7 clues left. Bets $10k and misses it. Enters Final Jeopardy up $11.4k to $8.7k. Misses final Jeopardy and ends up in third.
i woulda been surprised if yesterday’s final jeopardy wasn’t a clean sweep. the fact that no one got it was stunning. seemed super obvious
i understand maybe blanking on the name of the building but the event it was associated with was as clear as it gets and no one even got that part of it
I knew the reference but drew a blank on the name. I kept thinking "one if by land, two if by sea, three if...bicentennial!"
US Landmarks: In April 1975, to symbolize the start of America’s bicentennial, President Ford lit a third lantern at this landmark
I'm interested in that story that I've never heard about, but not enough to read a 10k word Ringer article about it. Cliffs?
She was a gameshow regular and used fake ID/SS# to skirt the rules about game show appearances. I don't remember the law exactly but you're not allowed to appear on multiple gameshows within a three year window, or something like that. She was a 5 day winner of like 30k but was disruptive and obnoxious and, at one point, argued a missed answer with Trebek live on the air (instead of waiting for a commercial like etiquette dictates). Once she was done, they found out she broke the appearance rules and tried to deny her the 30k. She sued, the studio ended up settling with her by giving her the money but erasing her shows from the history books/syndication, and denying her a spot in the Tourney of Champs.
I didn't read the article, sorry. I watched a documentary on it a while back and that was a summary of that. edit: I read it now. There's a mention of what I wrote here; But yea, most of the article is about the work that went into digging up the "lost" footage of her appearances, and then her side of the story at the bottom.
much of the article is her side of the story, which has never been heard before. and is kind of plausible it's easy to assume the truth is somewhere in the middle. Trebek was considered a bit of an asshole in the early years when he was both producer and host
I'm working, but my wife put on Jeopardy Masters. she said it shows the viewing audience where the double jeopardy clues are. interesting. Not sure it adds much as a viewer, but not sure there is much benefit in hiding it from us either
not sure what the final format is and even though Andrew is more consistent I think Matt is the only one capable of putting up the scores necessary to push James
