I'm not sure if anyone has been watching lately, but this bartender from NYC, Austin Rogers, has won the last 5 days in a row, total winnings so far is $188,700.
Risking ~$15K on that daily double last night was big time. He was less than $10K away from the biggest daily prize amount in Jeopardy history I believe.
He's infinity away from ever being even mentioned in the same breath as Roger Craig, holder of said record and the GOAT J! champion
I think he's awesome. Dude has personality, tells a good anecdote, and is having fun all the while racking up big paydays because he has the balls to bet. Seems like a winner to me.
Anyone who watched the TOC saw Rog rape and pillage his way through the competition like a boss. He controlled the majority of the finals as well but alas an ill fated wager on 2 Daily Doubles did him in. Still the all time greatest J! contestant (outside of any hot chick that I'd like to fuck)
i remember watching that final where he went a true daily double at like $35k. didn't really need it but went all in. electric television
Didn't his streak on jeopardy end because he missed a final jeopardy question about the super bowl? Whew. Couldn't be my champ.
He had $35,000 and the other contestant had $18,600. So while not close, he could have lost if he missed the final jeopardy question and she got it.
I don't know how you could dislike the guy. He is having fun and just going all out to win with big paydays. Its the type of guy we need.
He was an idiot. He was smart with his bet but dumb just ringing in and might have had a chance if he didn't do that.
