Caught 92 passes for 1,211 yards and 7 touchdowns at 40 years old in 2002.

I was slightly too young to remember watching him live even at the tail end of his career. I remember people wearing his Raiders jersey all over the place at that time, but I only vaguely remember his last season with the Seahawks.

Can we have a discussion about his longevity and sheer dominance?

Jerry Rice was amazing but Cam Newton was a MAN amongst BOYS in 2010.

When he was in his mid 30s or later can’t remember the rookie with the Raiders. But story goes after the draft Jerry called him and said why don’t you come work out with me before camp, etc. Of course the player was like hell yeah. Said they were running the hills of CA for like two or three hours and was some of the most intense working he out he had ever done. He said they came to a stop and he looked at Jerry and was like “ great work out, etc”. Jerry then said “we still have like 6 to 8 hours of training left”

Perfect WR for the West Coast Offense.

having Montana as his QB and John Taylor as the #2 WR didn't hurt either

Rice had 7,603 more yards than Randy Moss. That's a very good career's worth of yards better than the next guy.

Yea but have you ever seen anyone get Rice'd? You haven't. They always get Moss'd. Thus, Randy is the better WR. Easy.

If the difference between Rice's career stats and Moss' career stats were a person, it would be 116th on the all time NFL receiving yards list, right above Michael Crabtree, Dez Bryant, and Ed McCaffrey.

Nothing embodies “man among boys” like Clowney’s high school film.

Okay maybe a Penn State football coach does, but aside from that.

his stats are insane, and what's crazy to think about, he missed basically his entire age 35 season with a knee injury. For reference his age 36 season AFTER said need injury looked like:

    82 catches, 1157 yards, 9 TD

    Age 34 was 108 catches, 1254 yards, 8 TD

He could have easily had another 1200 yards and 8-10 TD on his resume, which would have put him over 200 TDs (197 total) and over 24,000 yards.

Just insane to me that after a knee surgery, in 1997 without all the advanced tech we have today, at age 35, he would add another 6,440 yards and 42 touchdowns.

His post knee injury stats would be good enough for 176th in yards and 197th in TDs

Not sure of Brady’s best stat season post 40, but is this Rice year more impressive?

Asking without knowing Brady’s due to the position difference and how QBs are officiated.
