I'm not sure what I'm supposed to be upset about. If someone would tell me then I'll definitely be upset.
The big question is where would dbl have Michigan ranked? His system takes into account possible future losses
No. I'd say they became relevant after winning the West and making in the SECCG with a title game appearance at stake.
I sure with this board went back to 2008 bc I'd bet dollar to donuts that you weren't singing Alabama praises this week in 2008.
You literally made that up. I think he's a damn good coach. I just happen to think he's a tier below Saban and Meyer. The fact that you take that so personally that you make shit up amuses me.
Perhaps that when a good coach takes over after a bumblefuck of a prior regime, "third place in the division" is a disingenuous angle to play in particular by someone who follows a program that made a similar transition? Or would you argue that in late October of 2008 Bama fans weren't enamored with all things Saban and didn't (rightfully) envision future successes?
I said I had some doubt, not that he wouldn't. Sorry for offending you with the audacity to have a little doubt.
I supported a good man who coached me and I would consider a friend. I'm also thrilled to have a competent head coach at my alma mater now.
Saying Jim may be in a tier behind Saban and Meyer is a reasonable take. Both of those coaches have won multiple national championships. Saying that Jim taking over a complete dumpster fire and going 17-3 isn't "relevant" is D level trolling.
He's done a damn good job so far. As a UM fan, you may have lower standards than I do as a Bama fan. I'll consider UM relevant when they win their division or better. Until then Harbaugh will have to climb trees and have sleepovers with recruits to keep UM in the news.
He won two conference championships at San Diego, and built the roster that won a 3rd after he left. He also built the roster that won the Pac-12 conference titles in 2012 and 2013. He just didn't stick around to see it through. It's an intellectually dishonest argument people bring up wrt to Harbaugh when they are trying to knock him. Mostly because they don't have much else. Harbaugh could be nearing half a dozen conference championships in the Pac 12 right now had he really wanted to.
Michigan fans seem to be going harder in the paint than dbl ITT to me. Basically the whole thing boils down to it's too early to have this conversation. But we're assholes with the internet so we do it anyway. The jury is out right now and "17-3" is not the evidence they'll use to issue their ultimate verdict
