I mean, he's not even my coach and the only thing I give a shit about the guy is that I think he's hilarious. But to be this obtuse and miss context for what reason I don't know, wow. He went 11-1 at the University of San Diego as well. But a guy that's turned around 3 college programs and killed it in the NFL isn't an elite coach (not saying he's as good as Urban or Saban). Alright.
I haven't seen anyone say that Harbaugh is better than Saban. Given that you tend to post in the extreme, I assume it's more hyperbole.
You didn't really answer the question I asked. Unless you're saying that Harbaugh is actually a tier above Saban and Meyer? Which at this point doesn't seem that much more absurd than putting them on the same level to be honest.
Obviously I'm not implying that the four coaches I've been talking about have the same accomplishments. However, I think all four could probably go anywhere in the country(within reason) and build a powerhouse. That's why I consider them in the same stratosphere.
if you were from that awful state, you'd tie your entire self-worth to the success of a football team in a hurry too
why is it dumb to rather have harbaugh than saban? harbaugh has 12 years on the guy. he is a proven great coach. he doesn't have the natties or the history, sure. but he will.
see texas fans circa 2009. we had the same narcissism, and that was without the natties or even the conference championships. winning breeds it.
That's not what he said. What he said really isn't any different from what you said later. Luck is involved.
Arrogance is one thing. An obsessive need to have everything about your favorite football team considered THE BEST! by everyone is a completely different thing.
ZeroPointZero is a USC fan. I have no idea which state he lives in, but Michigan probably wouldn't be my first guess.
He clearly said that all you can do is play with championship stakes late in the season bc luck is involved.
Harbaugh would need to win a title every 2.5 years for the next 12 years to catch up. No coach has ever done that. You think Harbaugh will?
Saying you'd rather have one coach over another isn't necessarily the same thing as saying that that coach has a better resume or is even a better coach. They could be at different stages of their careers, better fits for a particular school, etc. As of today, Nick Saban is the best college coach of my lifetime. I don't think that's debatable. Barry Switzer has a bunch of nattys and won a Super Bowl, but I'm pretty content saying I'd rather have Harbaugh as coach today.
That's not it at all. I just hate ignorance and anything that considers Bama anything less than the best is ignorant so that's where we get started.
Man has nearly 200 wins at what essentially used to be an NAIA school. That's more impressive than anything Saban has done.
If someone wants to play the age card, I get it. Plenty have said Harbaugh is as good or better at coaching cfb though. Maybe he will be one day, but as of now he's not.
I said you can't really ask for much more than being a contender every year. Urban came out with the short end of the stick last year and in 2013, but you can't expect a much higher performance out of a coach.
Nobody is saying it should be expected but saying you can't do more than be top 5-10 every year bc luck is involved is just wrong. There's luck involved in poker too but there's a reason the same guys end up cashing every event.
Can't speak for anyone but myself but I don't care at all that someone thinks specifically that Saban is the best coach in college football. Actually, I haven't even mentioned the fact that I won't even consider Meyer actually on Saban's level until he gets another NC. Meyer seems very close and likely will in the coming seasons but he hasn't gotten another yet. Much the same way Harbaugh has yet to get a national championship at this point. He hasn't gotten one. Much less two at different schools. And certainly not 3 or more total yet. If I had to bet on whether or not he will in the next 5 years, I'd absolutely guess he does get at least one. But he hasn't done so yet. It seems ridiculous to project his potential (regardless of how great it may be) as any sort of accomplishment worthy of associating him with Saban/Meyer who not only have the same amount of (if not more) potential to win in the coming seasons but have already done so in the past few seasons as well. If that's narcissistic then fuck me [the prettiest, most amazingly sexy awesome man alive].
much like jim harbaugh, home improvement was wildly overrated and was really nothing more than a 3rd or 4th tier tv show at best, it also never won anything of significance.
The actual situation was TMB Michigan fans stated they preferred having Harbaugh as the head coach of Michigan as opposed to Nick Saban as the head coach of Michigan. Noone said Harbaugh was better than Saban coaching wise, it was just a better fit for us. dbl lost his shit
