so what's the solution? If there is no way to convince that 20% they are wrong...now what? I don't disagree, I watched that documentary on the flat earthers, and when their own experiments proved the earth was not flat, they did not change their opinions. But doesn't there have to be some way to convince those people that they are wrong?
Massive outbreaks leading to death and a government mandate that every kid without a medical excuse needs to be vaccinated. That’s about the only way.
Like you said, there's a certain percentage of people that won't ever believe fact. There's literally nothing anyone can do to change some peoples' minds. It just won't happen. So stop assuming they're acting rationally because they're not. Ignore them. Treat them like the idiots they are. Engaging in a debate doesn't help and only hurts because it implicitly validates that you think those ideas are worth debating when they're not.
A lot of innocent people whose immunity may have waned or were unable to get vaccinated for medical reasons will be hurt too though
I dunno, I think there are weak-minded millennials who are going to believe what they hear, and if they do not hear the counter-arguments to the anti-vaxers may be led down the wrong path. I don't think you can just be silent and hope everyone finds the truth. it's not just about the people who don't believe facts today, it's about people who are forming those opinions right now.
I guess we'll have to agree to disagree, but I think publicizing he truth, often in direct and intentional contrast to the non-truth, can only help prevent future mush brained idiots from becoming flat earth anti-vaxers, or whatever the next big thing is. Democratic socialists? :)
Had to turn of the podcast because joe was being an ignorant cunt. Like usually he’s just ignorant but it kindve felt like he was bullying the guy.. especially about eating junk food. Like wtf Joe use this opportunity to shut down the antivaxers not go on the 400000th personal health tirade.
“I always just assumed vaccines were safe and effective. Why are they making this big publicity push? They must have something to hide. Let me read up on that.” - very smart skeptics.
And when he’s like “you need to reassess he conversation because there are 19 anti-vax books ahead of yours on amazon!, don’t you think a debate would settle this?” Hey joe remember when everyone was wearing rubber magnet bracelets because they were supposed to improve athletic performance? Should there have been a debate between the manufacturers and a sports medicine doctor? Joe just wants another debate podcast. He seems like he really is starting to take himself seriously..
I lol’d at when he got so flustered that the doctor said he didn’t think vitamins were all that beneficial. Every doctor I know feels the same way. Probably even lechnerd
because it's a fun guilty pleasure. And every once and a while it's a cool podcast. I learned a lot today from a legit vaccination expert. Twas worth it.
Does all the misery you keep inside fighting all these internet arguments make your life better? You can simply can ignore things.
Imagine being the guy that earned this Easter egg By constantly shitting on things other people found amusing and still making that post.
I enjoyed the Dr. Phil episode. I thought the Alex Jones one was fun. Autism one was ok, pot debate was meh. Not sure which one I’ll dive into next Edit: might have mentioned in thread, but Colin Obrady episode was good too
While it’s interesting. Schulz has an axe to grind with Netflix & network television because they didn’t pick up some of his ideas.
Not that it will effect his viewership/popularity among some. But Joe seems to spiraling with this defend Alex Jones and somenof his other followers nonsense .
If you’re going to comment on the convo be fair about it. Joe suggested the documentary because the doctor explained how anti vaccine books have dominated on Amazon and his books can’t be found. That people fighting against the Anti Vaccine movement are having trouble being on the forefront because guys like Joe Kennedy are spending millions of dollars and creating lobbying groups for the anti vaccine movement. Joe said he knows a lot of people are really into documentary right now. And Netflix is a good place to prove said documentary so the scientist who are trying to properly educate the idiots can have a voice that is not burried under the money being spent. He wasn’t implying people are to stupid to read so make a video.
He said people dont read books and are informed by documentaries. I didnt claim he said people were too dumb. He did infer they're too lazy and need it spoon fed via doc, instead of the effort it takes to read a book
Alex Jones does his shtick in the video a lot and Rogan chokes him out because he requests it. Spoiler Actually it's a decent level headed discussion and the most calm I've seen Alex Jones. Rogan's comedian friend comes on 45 minutes in.
Lets see what the video descriptions says... "The podcast star unloads on Islam, free speech, Big Tech censorship, life and more." yeah im good
Altering brain patterns in adult primates is not a suitable explanation for germ line genetic changes that cause evolution.
This still doesn’t explain an evolutionary role of mushrooms. It does pimp the dude’s supplements on his website though.
He has a TED talk and other lengthy videos where he probably goes into more depth. I haven't had a chance to watch his full Rogan video. He's no different than Dr. Weil hocking his matcha tea products on Rogan.
don’t find the man funny, but gave it a listen i’ll be letting my son listen to some of it tomorrow, because that middle part was incredible and had some great lessons about work ethic
About half way thru the Shapiro cast. Had to stop because I'm positive my eardrums were developing AIDS.
