there is a whole group of comedians that I like a lot more on their podcasts or shows than I do their actual standup. Come to think of it, maybe all of them. Rogan, Chris D'elia, Segura, Bert, even Bill Burr and Seinfeld. That's not to say they are all equivalent comedians, but in a lot of ways comedians in cars getting coffee was more entertaining to me than Seinfeld's latest special.

This is where I am, since I stopped traveling for work a couple years ago my consumption has steadily declined and I barely listen anymore. Joe is a terrible listener. I have really enjoyed "Andy Frasco's World Saving Podcast" since I started listening a couple weeks ago I've probably listened to 20 plus hours. He's a touring musician and interviews other touring musicians, majority of the discussion is focused around mental health and life on the road. He's super positive and asks incredibly benevolent questions. He's also very disarming and guests really open up to him. It's a nice change from what sounds like constant bitching from Joe Rogan in comparison.
This is such a dumb argument that people (barstool fans do it with portnoy too) keep making to justify their fandom of people with questionable or even problematic stances on most things. The entire point is he has a platform spreading disinformation; if you have the ability to differentiate truth from fiction because you’re a very smart guy, that’s great, but assuming everyone who listens to him can do that is wrong.
I never liked his standup and his stint with Stanhope on The Man Show was dreadful. Still, if I like to listen to people talk about the pyramids, history, space, etc from time to time, so I tune in here and there.

I honestly did not know that I’m assuming that’s something from Onit? Like I said I pick and choose which pods of his I listen too, so I must have just maneuvered that mine field somehow.
I’m amazed anyone listens to the first 5-7 and final 5-7 minutes of his podcast. It’s like staying for the credits at the end of a movie. What type of savage does this?
I only listen to Joe via Apple Podcast and yes, He starts the pod with about 5 minutes of ad reads and finishes with 5 minutes of reads. He’s spoken about how he loses out on money by doing this but thinks podcasts that are interpreted by add reads suck and ruin the flow. So he’s willing to take the loss. So he never reads adds during the pod. Just at the start and end.
He’s not shilling a Chrysler, he’s shilling under researched “brain” pill. If someone gave you a box of sugar pills (and that’s on the safe side of this scenario, we have no idea how alpha brain could impact someone long term), and said you can make millions off of it, you just have to tell people it makes them smarter, would you do it?
You don't see the conflict there with a host who's selling his listeners saw dust pills? That doesn't make you question his motivation?
Haha, no I have it on an open tab in chrome while I’m working. But yes I listen to 2-3 YouTube pods a day. Then if they are referencing a clip and I’m not in the middle of something I can switch over to it and see what they are talking about. Currently listening to a YMH episode.

These podcaster will sell anything and everything. From erection pills to things that will help you grow back the hair on your head or groom your man parts. I don’t tune into Joe for his advertising ads, I enjoy the conversations and move on with my day. I would never take or buy anything any of these Pods attempt to sell. With that said I don’t know when Joe was selling that product. If it was recent or in the past. Hopefully given his huge following he’s more careful on what he decides to advertise. He himself has said he’s blown away by his reach and has taken steps to be more mindful of that. So hopefully his ads are part of that thought process and change.
What about other people? Do you think selling sham medical pills to people looking for help is a good thing?
What’s the conflict? He openly tells his viewers he’s an idiot just chatting with his friends and not to take him or his thoughts as gospel. Joe’s podcast is the equivalent to barber shop talk. I see his ad reads as just that. A means to get paid. This is how everyone should look at it. I don’t see how anyone can see what he’s doing and think any different.
Of all the things to attack Rogan for idk why you keep latching on to the onnit products. They are definitely overpriced but in the Wild West that is the supplement industry onnit does an exemplary job with quality and transparency. I can hardly even watch or listen to the podcast anymore, I made it like 15 mins into the recent Musk interview and had to give up. I don’t like the podcast anymore. That doesn’t make Joe Rogan a scam artist
I believe the overwhelming amount of his followers don’t follow Joe for medical pills and medical advice. I could be totally off on this but I feel confident I’m not. And I would hope most people who tune into Joe understand you go to doctors for medical treatments and not some ad buy on a podcast.
Because it’s not enough to say you don’t like the podcast and move on in life. They must attack him in any whacked out angle possible. I’m more upset he chose to smoke weed when interviewing Bridget the other day knowing she’s got huge substance abuse issue over shilling some fucking ad about a drug most people don’t even give a fuck about.
