Joe deserves a vacation once in a while (which I suspect is why he has been absent for a week), or he is out hunting again.

First time I've ever listened to the podcast... LOL @ how high Joe is at the start of the interview.

Armstrong will never not fascinate me... He remains that same cold blooded killer that made it to the top of his sport and built his empire on lies and deception. Even now- I get the impression that he's more sad that he was caught than he is for having lived that life. He's great.

i expected Joe to press the point that Lance destroyed his teammates and friends lives to perpetuate a lie.

but yeah Bill Burr was always right. Our roided up guy beat your roided up guy!

I don't think Armstrong would have gone into a hostile interview. Rogan let him off fairly easy, but that's all been said and done, it is great to just hear him talk about mostly everything. It's simply a fascinating American style tragedy...

Armstrong saying, "looking back, I should have probably answered questions differently or just said, 'No comment on that,'" but never really saying I wish I had never done the things I had to lie and cover up is a pretty clear indication that he would do it all over again... The guy is a sociopath and I could watch documentaries or listen to his interviews and never get bored.

Edit: Should have used psychopath instead of sociopath- I don't think he has any regrets/remorse for what he did and the people he hurt along the way, which includes his wife and children.

Armstrong podcast was very good. Lance has seem to come to grips with everything, and it was interesting to hear him talk openly about everything. Joe does a good job of asking tough questions, but also being sympathetic in the awkward moments.

Did anyone catch the moment when Joe asked, "What was it like the first time you shot up?".

    Lance, "What, well . . . ."

Joe, "I didn't mean shoot up, I meant the first time you thought about using steroids?"

Any good ones lately? Haven't listened in a while. Listened to part of the Blazerian one, who surprisingly came off not douchey at all.

Just saw Joey Diaz one uploaded. Will listend to that. Diaz kills me.

I have a love/hate thing with Rogan. I think he's a bit of a douchenozzle. I dont find him or the his standup all that funny. But he's a good interviewer and discussion driver + he has a really wide variety of guests that interest me.

Them having to explain baseball and football to him like Joe is a 3 year old was great. How does a 40 year old man get this far in life without understand the basic stuff?

Haven't listened in prob 2 years. Didn't matter who the guest was, joe would always direct every discussion to his talking points.

    Hunting
    Weed and psychedelics
    Jiu Jitsu
No matter who the guest was.

If he actually engages in discussion again I'll try coming back around.

Nothing will make me turn it off faster than Anything politics, conspiratorial or hearing him how long it takes a comedian to master his craft.

Good for him. He has made a great living doing things he loves.

He has some great advice on life and how to treat people. Not sure his success changes that

For sure, just saying i think his outlook is the result of his success not the other way around.

And obviously he is much more grounded than most people in the public eye so good for him.

I have slowly found him more and more annoying, but gave his new Netflix standup a shot. its not bad, I expected a few rants about R&P but he was surprisingly kind when speaking of people who have different opinions than him. normally comics and celebs talk down on everyone.

When Eddie Bravo is on a fight companion and rambles on with the most ridiculous conspiracy theories I either cringe and FF or just sit through it and laugh at how crazy he is.

Man Eddie is a nutcase. I respect his mastery of jiu jitsu but he is a straight up crazy person. He runs the entire gauntlet of crazy from fluoride in the water to fake moon landings to Sandy Hook being a hoax. I skip the fight companions because of him. My favorite recurring guests are Brian Callen, Duncan Trussell, and Joey Diaz.

We're complete opposites. Callen is an ADD riddle retard. He drives me nuts. Trussell his voice and his retarded conspiracy theories are worse. Diaz is amazing, although he was rather subdued in this last one :/

My favorite recurring guests, although much less frequent than those guys are Dan Carlin, Bert Kreisher and Steve Rinella.

Rinella has been a life changer for me. For whatever reason, listening to him on JRE and watching his show got me into hunting. I had never fired a gun in my first 26 years or so of life. Now Im all in to hunting. Im a city slicker furthest thing from a redneck. I love eating shit I kill now. (that sounds kind of psycho saying it out loud). But it all stemmed from a podcast.

His podcast has definitely morphed over the years, but at the end of the day, Joe is as consistent as it comes when putting out content.

I like all the oddball guest too, especially the recent paleontologist. The "life couch" chick was surprisingly good as well and I took a couple nuggets away from that episode.

Joe has always said, listen to the episodes you want for as long as you want. I don't think he expects people to listen to every episode, he just wants to have different guest sprinkled in with the regulars.

Lately I find myself listening to 50â„…-75â„… of an episode. I always put it on pause for whatever reason with the intent to come back and listen to the rest, but never do.

Bilzerian bugs me. I like the guy's life, the self aggrandizement I can handle, but his rags to riches story is such bullshit. His dad was a corporate raider in the 80's and committed an array of scams/frauds, hid his money offshore before he went to prison, and has been funneling it through his other son who relinquished his US citizenship to live on whatever Caribbean island his dad's offshore accounts were in. He sucks at poker and is notorious fish, the Wild West days of the online poker boom was just an opportunistic way they washed their money and got it back to the states. There was a thread on 2+2 before he became famous where someone outed their scheme. He'd get .75-.80c on the dollar via chip dumping online and in the big private games in Vegas/LA. For instance give random rich guys or poker players $100k and they'd "lose" $80k to him. He didn't turn naval disability checks into millions.

He has been a bullshitter from day one. I remember reading about this guy when he was first becoming famous for his extravagant lifestyle, and I went down the google rabbit hole. At the time he was on record saying that he started out playing online poker when he was at the University of Florida and was basically broke... but then somehow did well enough to make huge money in cash games, sometimes heads-up, against celebrities and high-level business people. He said that he didn't play against pros because the stakes weren't high enough.

Combine that with the his various stories about how close he was to becoming a Navy SEAL.

Despite all of the lies and lies to cover the lies about his life, I would probably trade places with the son of a corporate raider in a heartbeat.
