And yet we are the sheep for getting vaccinated and he belives a story like that from some guy he knows.
hes gotten so much worse than the peak of this thread defending him was funny to come across the clips of Tim Dillon very subtly pushing back on him, imagine Joe won't even have him back on again
He’s on steroids and eats exclusively meat, so he’s close to fucking around and finding out territory talking about heart attacks and healthy living.
It's insane how many people are on a full routine of various steroids like it's not affecting them at all - and it also is borderline cultish of them promulgating the rhetoric of the benefits, etc, etc. I don't mind his take on people need to be dramatically healthier, kinda think that should be a consensus at this stage in the game, but I feel like he is all over the place these days and doesn't realize how impactful his audience has potentially become. I don't go on a bender and influence 10 million people, he can smoke a joint and jump on a podcast anytime and do so which undoubtably extrapolates from there.
I love how "healthy" (whatever Joe Rogan's idea of that is) people think nothing bad will ever happen to them "I ain't got sick in years"= luck as much as anything
Its amazing how he does not question how republicans tried to attack Michelle Obama's healthy living fight including having healthier lunches in schools. Rogan is the type of person who acts like he cares more than you. He is a piece of shit. Yes we need to get healthier but him saying that is an out that he will use when he gets called to carpet for all the other bull shit he has said. He wants to make it seem like he is the only one saying people need to get healthier when people have been saying it long before he has And long before covid. But what makes what he is saying dangerous is that he purposely does not talk about is how covid can and is killing people with other diseases.
Imagine listening to a podcast with guests like Peter McCullough and Robert Malone. The latter of which was just kicked off Twitter for sharing misinfo
When I want to listen to a guy’s guy comedian who tells it like it is, you can’t go wrong with Tim Heidecker. Love his observational “Cosby Comedy” style.
Six more months on the Crab Salts, Tim will be plenty ready for the octagon. Crab Salts are the game changer that Big Pharma has been silencing for generations because they’d be out of business.
Yeah, I have zero interest in consuming his content anymore. I used to find some of his shows somewhat listenable and interesting. Now I just find him repulsive.
I enjoyed guys like Kevin Hart, Bill Burr, on there - when he's talking to A-list comedians that are just talking shit to each other. I enjoyed the sleep scientist and the Forrest one which is just a guy trying to find new species and does some wild shit. I know this is a heavily knocked on take but at the end of the day - if the guest is good enough I will watch. My least favorite interviewer in the world could interview Daniel Day Lewis, I'm still not going to claim I have other better viewing options.
Fucked up thing us I started listening to him in the early 2010s because it was the only longform pod that could draw interesting guests at the time. Good waste of time at work. Then like, slowly but surely he’d have a fucking quack or a RWNJ on and I’d be like oh what the fuck man. Then he never ever shut the fuck up about social justice warriors and collectively it was like man he’s a total fucking shitbag and there are other options I’m done
I listened to the ufo Fraber pod, the scientist at the beginning of Covid, and Bernie in 2020 otherwise it’s been 3-4 years since I’ve listened regularly.
Basically once he started regularly having guys like Milo Yiannopolis, crowder, Gavin Mcinnes, Jordan Peterson, and all these other IDW dudes I noped out
Stefan Molyneux was the first super suspect guest I remember. (In the moment it was bad, in retrospect it was INCREDIBLY bad) then it went like Charles Johnson, Crowder, Milo in relatively short time frame and it was obvious there was intent here
That's a fair take - but I have definitely not swam the waters of other options for a platform to hear interesting people speak aside from just letting YouTube play in the background throughout an admittedly dumb schedule.
lol - I'm not even making a point here other than I literally forgot that guy existed. Did he just get banned from every outlet and kinda exited?
Molyneux is a classic story of someone who was a libertarian, had some great debates where he got owned by Sam Seder, but then quickly transitioned to being a full blown white supremacist, was too overt in being a nazi and got banned everywhere. Assuming that was who you were referencing. Charles Johnson was a twitter troll, who I'd LOVE to figure out how he got booked on there, who has since been banned everywhere but has surprisingly got lots of cred in the trump movement, basically a younger Roger Stone.
I always found the defenses of why Rogan didn't have more left wingers on (except for ones who are what people now call post-lefties) so weak, talking about no free clout etc. Especially after years of critiques on it they don't remotely address it in booking. Curious.
He's "allegedly" invited quite a few big name lefties on. No idea of the accuracy of that but I mean Bernie Sanders went on I don't claim to know the mans inner heart or politics but I'm down for an open forum of grown adults all day long.
Yeah I don't buy the "allegedly" at all when basically every big name lefty on the internet says they'd gladly go on and its crickets. Rogan BUILT much of the right wing ecosystem by platforming folks like Crowder/Rubin/etc.
I listened to him in my early 20s when he was regularly ingesting psychedelics and on JustinTV with redband. It's wild to think what those two did to media regardless of where everything else went, especially redband who history will forget. But it's even more wild to think where Rogan ended up now ideologically. I'm sure this seems silly coming from a dude with a screenname of blotter, but I really think he doesn't go down the rabbit hole if he kept regularly eating mushrooms. Without a foundation psychedelics or float tanks ultimately don't produce the goods longterm. Like does rogan even talk about being a good person anymore? His quasi-life coach shit? Situation is weird when I give it any thought. The long-standing relationship with Alex Jones. He was regularly posting on his message board going back to the early/mid 2000s. That place had a lot of good content if you could sift through the conspiracy, unhinged people, and endless dicks. Was the first place I heard of Bitcoin and had a lot of early adopters. There was also a dude who documented his attempt to fix a botched circumcision over like a two week period. It's just amazing to think of his outsized influence poisoning millions when I interacted with him on his message board in like 07/08. It's either my psychedelic theory or he became an asset like some people theorize Alex Jones is
I’m interested to hear him talk to other comedians other then his buddies who are on all the time. I’m interested when I hear him break down UFC fights or talk with fighters I’m not interested in hearing anything from him at this point. just stick to the shit that he has at least some qualifications and knowledge on to talk about it
tim ferris has really good guests and is a better interviewer than rogan. he does occasionally have chuds on, though.
Clicking on this topic on Twitter really highlights the fact that a bunch of chuds/neck bears run to defend rogan at every turn and it is literally the most embarrassing thing I have ever seen.
First time I became aware of that Ethan dude was when he let Seder ambush that Crowder debate. I think this is the second time I’ve seen something from him. Pretty good track record so far
