To train for the day that it's my turn to be Heidi Klum's toy, I'mma start whacking off every time I read "MoviePass" on this message board.
Thought the trailer looked awful. Nothing about it seemed fresh/inventive. Glad the reviews are average. Will still make a ton of money. Spoiler
Hello. For the most part I enjoyed this film and got what I expected. Spoiler It could be the worst movie ever but as long as it ends with a T-Rex roaring it will at least resonate with me in some way. Spoiler The lion part at the end Spoiler Blue Spoiler Thought they went overboard with trying to make the computer geek the comic relief. Got a little annoying early on but fortunately he only played a minor part in the second half of the movie.
Spoiler this movie was on par with independence day 2 to me. I enjoyed it while in the theater but now that I'm out I'm just shaking my head about how bad it was. It's still more entertaining that jp3 which I can't bring myself to ever watch again, but I doubt I'll ever see this one again either. I left the theater (sober) and thought multiple times today "whatever happened to the nerd and lesbian in the second act?" I had gone to pee when they were driving off the boat for the mansion and separated from Pratt and claire. I assumed they didn't remember to bring them back into the story or they were dead already. Only this morning did I realize they were letting blue out and in the dino control room. That's how forgettable those characters were. Or I just wanted to forget them, one or the other. That cliff fall seemed damn far, like jumping off a bridge to commit suicide. Yet Pratt somehow does it just fine out of a gyrosphere... maybe, but took me out of the movie. The amount of "nostalgia" was so overdone. Nearly shot for shot remake of jp and lost world I felt. Took me out of the movie rather than the good balance JW took where it felt fresher to me and here and there you just see a jeep or something and say "oh awesome." Character development: none. This was all action and dinosaurs. First JP had 15 min or so total of dino shots and it worked. The debate about saving or not saving the dinos could've made for a much more interesting centering of the plot and brought it back to what made original movie so great which I feel was it being an awesome dino movie that built suspense but also was very smart and heady with its core debate about playing God and disrupting the natural order. All of the villains felt like every stereotype for villains ever, sucked. I'm sick of hybrids. I read somewhere that trevorrow wants to make JW3 into a modern day serious version of the flintstones. Couldnt tell if person was being sarcastic after seeing this movie or if thats the truth. Dammit, I'll see it but that sounds awful. And completely plausible given the ending. Fucking pteradactyls in vegas...wtf man...
Spoiler that was the laziest movie ever. Feels like they decided they want part 3 to be about living with dinosaurs so they turned what should have been a 30 minute part one into a full movie by adding in the shitty indo raptor.
I'm still going to see it because it's dinosaurs and stuff, but these reviews are not surprising at all.
Spoiler am i wrong in thinking that the indo stuff is done because trex stepped on the indo rex fossil?i guess someone could go back to that mansion and get the indorapter bones though... and maybe they took it in all that dna that was jacked near the end. i was kinda hoping the rex stepping on the bone signified they were done with that storyline.
I could have told y’all this movie would suck. The original JP you had intelligent characters discussing issues within the plot — Ex: the ethics of bringing dinosaurs back to life. “The lack of humanity before nature here is staggering.” Fast-forward to these JW movies: you have the good-looking main character who trains velociraptors, and says nothing but sarcastic comebacks. However maybe the demographic here is for children, which then the plot would be appropriate.
Great movie. Just gotta understand that this is the fifth iteration of the same concept. There's only so much you can do.
Im a huge Jurassic Park fan, first is one of my fav movies ever. I did not like this one. The action was solid but overall shit sucked and I am usually not a movie hater at all.
Oh boy, just saw it, it was really bad, like objectively terrible. There’s some Indiana Jones 4 level choices with the script and some of the shit that happens in it. I still enjoyed watching dinosaurs.
not even Pratt's charisma could save this. Amazing how quickly Trevorrow has gone from chosen one to toxic for franchises. They'd do well to separate this from him like Lucasfilm did.
