these wr’s rock
They get paid millions of dollars to catch footballs.....also can't catch footballs.
Also, the fact that Kelce looks like he may be rapidly approaching the end of the line doesn't help matters.
He's been mediocre or even downright bad more than he's been good this year...
I don’t doubt his age is part of it, but a lot has to be that opponents can just throw bodies at him because the rest of the receivers are self-defending.
Kelce's ability to stay healthy has been an issue. Being double teamed every play hasn't helped. He can still be a good player , but he relies on finding the soft spot in coverage vs being a freak athlete. When he's the focal point of the defense there's not a lot of plays where he can get open.
Without looking it up his average depth of target has to be by far the shortest of his career.
That fumble and drop yesterday were rough and it's not his first horrible drop(s) this season either. Theoretically your ability to hold on to the ball would be the last thing to go...
I’d venture a guess that being under pressure to make positive plays because the offense is struggling is a factor in the drops and mishandling. Just out there doing your thing vs trying to do too much and moving on in your process before you complete catches and such.
Got stuck in a long boring company meeting so I watched some All-22 from recent.
Rashee Rice is so close to emerging as an elite Wide Receiver. I think if Pat looks away from Kelce a little more and gives him some more opportunities, I think we're gonna see a true bona-fide Andy Reid classic flanker.
They need to find an MVS replacement in the draft. His role is stil a strong one in the Offense but they can get similar results from a draft pick and take the cap savings to retain CJ and/or Sneed IMO
I think they let Sneed go
I love him and the way he developed the past few years but I think Sneed is a goner no matter what.
That seems to be the position they've had the most luck in the draft on acquiring... not sure if it's scheme or Veach or what but I have more confidence in backfilling Sneed than a game wrecker like CJ.... although I'd probably walk on him too and reload.
He played very limited snaps on Sunday but Wanya Morris showed some promise.
Interesting. The reddish-orange blob that is arrowhead at night must mess with the ability to see the ball?
Letting Jones walk would be an awful choice.
I'd rather let him walk a year or two early than sign him to an albatross of a contract and have it be an anchor.
Well yea, no one wants a bad contract. But I think there’s a medium between that and letting him walk.
No there isn't because he is going to demand Aaron Donald money and someone will pay him.
Seems like Jawaan Taylor has replaced Frank Clark as the Chief's worst contract. He leads the league in penalties.
would love to know what the ratio of those drops are between chiefs and opponent. You would think it would be skewed like 70/30 towards opponent but with how we've been going this year...
Worked well for him this last offseason!
Difference is there will be 31 other teams bidding for his services this round.
Subsequent tweets said it was nearly identically split
A fair amount of them have been bullshit.
No way this is even accurate though. While the penalties are up there, Pat has had more time than ever this season. That's what makes the whole receiver thing even more ridiculous.
During the last broadcast didn’t they say Taylor had the best pass block win rate in the entire league?
On defense I think you pay Jones and Sneed
Taylor has had some high profile issues but overall I think he’s been fine. His holding penalty rate was known before he was signed, and I’d rather he hold than Pat get hit. The illegal formation penalty thing was a ridiculous joke the league seems to have moved on from
he’s a good tackle, but when he gets beat he holds. when you’re protecting the face of the league, I don’t have an issue with that
Watching him line up is atrocious
Yes, I believe it said he led all Tackles in snap to pressure time. Aside from the penalties I think he's been perfectly fine. Definitely a narrative-driven situation after all those illegal formation penalties in the first couple weeks.
I think we keep Jones and let Sneed walk. Would love to keep him but this wouldn't be the first time we let a good DB walk.
McDuffie will be making a bag once his rookie deal is up too. Can't afford Sneed and then McDuffie in a couple years.
I would support Deneric Prince getting carries. He runs angry like Pacheco
I think there is a strong argument to be made to straight up cut about 4 WR and find guys off the street who could do better.
At the very least if I was Veach, MVS or Toney or both would be gone tomorrow just to prove a fucking point. They are so bad.
Curse of Taylor Swift imo
They are doing the KCI and letting the building fall apart for a new stadium.
Welcome to Kansas, Chiefs. I will be able to hear your new home from my house.
OUR BUILDING’S HEAD IS FALLING OFF
I thought Andy woke up after half time and actually ran mostly correct plays and schemes for the first time in like 2 months. However, getting down 14 early was too much for this team to overcome offensively. I take away some positives for the end of the season and playoffs. Mostly sucks that the road to the arrowhead invitational is mostly blocked this year, and if we make a run we’re going to have to do it all on the road.
Fuck if we just decided to cover RBs out of the backfield it is an easy win.
I really don't like this year's version of the team.
I'm not really kidding - combine Mizzou and KU's WR rooms and put them in KC and it very well may be an upgrade.
Classic Patrick title incoming?
“The one where Patrick had no wide receivers”
He should take them to his loch Lloyd home and let them disappear under mysterious circumstances
Carl Cheffers who could have guessed
*Loch Lloyd compound
Can we submit these cuts now for the first day eligible.
Watson had one target yesterday, which is weird as he has been a fairly reliable option to make catches when the ball goes his way. Roll out of a base 12 personnel with Rice, Watson, Kelce, and gray and see what that gets you.
the WRs are bad but Andy is just as bad at figuring out how to use them, tough scene overall
this is so funny
Much like the WRs, the ceiling is prone to dropping as well.
I believe I once stood near that exact spot on a tour about 3 years ago. Crazy that I was that close to death and/or dismemberment.
