Ocean Prime is very good but also very expensive. If you don't mind the small plate-type dinners, check out Corvino.
We've been to Corvino and enjoyed it. Was trying to find someplace new and she also knows that's where Kelce+ Swift went lol
Received a job offer today that I am probably going to accept near KC. Company is located in Leawood. Any recs for a housing search? I have a 3 year old and 1 year old so not quite school aged. My wife is from Kansas so she’d prefer to live on the KS side. I am in Houston currently and looking at a late nov/early dec start date.
Leawood is expensive I’ll tell you that much. The Shawnee mission Parkway mission/roeland park area is home to several TMB’rs
I moved to Mission near the area where Mission/Prairie Village/Fairway all intersect a little over a year ago and have very much enjoyed it.
depends heavily on what size house you want. basically all the schools on the Joco side are good, but blue valley west and Shawnee mission east are considered the two best probably. generally, further south means more space for the money, further north means more convenience to things to do etc. Also congrats and welcome
Appreciate the recs. We will probably start looking this weekend online. My wife will probably go back to teaching next year so that’ll play an important part. I’d probably prefer being closer to the city so I’ll start with the rp/mission area. I’m excited to get up there in the next few weeks to look around. I spent 2 years in Manhattan when I was in the army so I’ve been to KC a few times, just not outside of the downtown area.
I loved MHK. If only I could have moved earlier in the year so I could have watched UCF get boat raced by both KS schools in person.
If you're going to pay that much to live in south KC I recommend Martin city it's very nice but not quite as expensive
Would recommend south Lee's Summitt or the edge of Greenwood that would go to LS School district. Actual Greenwood Elementary school looked old and run down to hell. Quick hop to 150 that takes you right into Leawood.
If you'll excuse me, I need to go buy my legal weed without needing to even leave town. Ask them Kansas schmucks if they can do the same
I’m not an inhabitant. Partner is from the area and lived there when we got together but she moved to FL a year ago so her son could go to college here next year. Love the city but I’m certainly not an expert.
Also remember Jackson county has the entertainment tax so you’ll lose 1% of your salary. I personally take responsibility for paying for all the awesome stuff those freeloading Kansans love to use so it doesn’t bother me.
It’s painful. I’d gladly donate the same % to the zoo or stadiums or Union Station or Nelson-Atkins but being forced to do it sucks. Especially when the other 60% of the metro enjoy the same benefits but don’t contribute.
Live in Kansas so you can wager from your phone whenever you want, then go to Missouri once a month to stock up on MJ. This is the way. Missouri sucks.
