Well the poor girl behind the bar at DoubleShift just got her car stolen from outside. Watched it all go down. She ran out of here trying to chase them down
that car won't get far haha check out King G and the dive bar connected to it but you have to enter in the alley! close to doubleshift
Just thought of this as I drove by it making a beer run, Earls Premiere is in Brookside so 5 mins from Starlight. It’s pretty great. Located in the middle of my neighborhood. Surrounded by houses so it’s kind of a strange location. Literally 3 blocks from my house so if you wanted to stop and take a picture in front of the ever famous Casa de Dirt you’re right here.
Old friend alert. Hitching your wagon to Nick Wright was a hell of a call when he picked out an internship 15 years ago.
KCMO police finally putting their war paraphernalia and bloated budget to good use. My windows got smashed in a couple months back. Insurance covered the window 100% but they damn kids also bent the door frame and it doesn’t open correctly anymore. Insurance says they don’t cover it. Maybe I should have a different body shop check on that.
Give them credit, after 4 months and hundreds of thousands of dollars spent they caught 2 of 4 teenagers.
do you think I would kid around like something like this https://www.yahoo.com/news/pizza-place-closes-last-kansas-182324431.html
ngl the last time I had pizza from the mouse it really wasn't bad. Just not as cool without the giant ol' ballpit for all the kids to spread germs at.
I have family that lives in Lenexa so we'll stop by Black Dog/Ibis on 87th Street sometimes, their stuff is always pretty good imo. On another note, I WFH and I have a couple people on my team coming into KC for some in-person meetings at my company's office downtown. I'm going to plan a couple lunches for us, anyone been anywhere recently that they really liked for lunch? I've taken these folks to most of the big BBQ places in the last few years, so looking for something in the non-BBQ category. Brown and Loe is my go-to with this crew mainly because it's close to our office, but wanting to branch out a bit. I've thought of The Russell, Westside Local (haven't been there in years), or Chingu (Korean place in Westport I've wanted to try). Any thoughts?
also DirtBall i got my FIL some shatto milk for his cereal when they visited last week and now he’s obsessed with it
Saw Trip McNeely voted today and remembered I never posted this. I don’t know if anyone else is on the Mo side with us but a quick reference guide if you aren’t familiar with everything. Caveat though, Amendment 7 and Question 1 should be NO votes. Q says the same I an follow up tweet:
Going to be nice not having to drive around all the construction. City Hall is also meeting this morning to approve the next step for the airport light rail. They keep saying it’ll be ready for the World Cup but I have no idea how.
Jackson County about to lose $71 million because Frank White is useless. He didn’t even attend the meeting yesterday. Another emergency meeting next Monday.
only way I can even think of would be if it was on existing track, non electric, with no in between stops, and even then you’d need a shuttle bus from the airport because as far as I know there’s no track anywhere near it
