My top 10 Kanye beats 1. Guess Who's Back 2. Through The Wire 3. Be (Intro) 4. All of the Lights 5. This Can't Be Life 6. All Falls Down 7. Touch The Sky 8. Takeover 9. Heart of the City 10. Power And I've mentioned this in the canes thread but this is his most underrated beat by far
also i'm all for ragging on clutch for any reason, but ragging on him for liking an album that came out when he was 10 is definitely not one of them. there's nothing wrong with appreciating a classic
oh no i'm not ragging on him i'm just trying to figure out how long its been if i rag on him i'd rag on him for saying he liked something like "motown philly"
That Chappelle's Show video is a classic. My rankings for Kanye's albums: 1. Late Registration 2. College Dropout 3. MBDTF (Although as more time passes I am starting to think this might be my favorite. No hip-hop album released since is even close to as good as this imo.) 4. Graduation 5. 808's and Heartbreak Not sure whether to count Watch the Throne or not. If I did it'd be 5 or 6 probably. To me 1-4 are all amazing, and if I had to make a list of my top 25 or top 50 favorite albums, all 4 would be in there.
this sample video is astonishing you really have to have an incredible musical base to find samples like some of these
please watch the MBDTF one. i hadn't seen it before and it was pleasantly shocking to hear some of the originals
Songs: 1. Through the Wire 2. Gone 3. Devil in a New Dress 4. We Major 5. Good Life 6. Spaceship 7. Can't Tell Me Nothing 8. My Way Home 9. The Joy 10. Good Morning
funny you posted weezy's version because to me nyle's version > weezy's granted the video is badass and the beat is all live but fuck i think he did better on the beat compared to weezy
Now the chances of this happening are probably slim, but Kanye and a couple people associated with him (the dude who co-produced Niggas in Paris, Jay-Z) have said he may be involved in 3 albums releasing this year: a GOOD Music album, a Watch the Throne sequel, and his next solo album.
1. Family Business 2. Touch the Sky 3. Diamonds From Sierra Leone 4. The Glory 5. Hey Mama 6. Get Em High 7. Through the Wire 8. All of the Lights 9. Last Call 10. Celebration It's pretty hard to rank them. I haven't really listened to MBDTF enough to really be able to rank those well.
My favorite Kanye song right now. But it changes every week. Kanye is 18 of my top 20 most played songs of all time.
I agree, I hope they end up at least waiting a year or two. I think a sequel is pretty much inevitable, though, that tour they went on did really well.
i'm watching the coachella show and just lmao at kanye's musical excess. he gets the lead singer for one of the most critically acclaimed bands out right now to do backing vocals for his show. i also loved elton john's and alicia keys' vocals on all of the lights. like i said before, brilliant opulence.
It was my favorite show too. Better than Jay-Z/Eminem at Yankee Stadium, which I thought would never be topped
Drunk one night in December, my buddy and I made full 64-song "Best Kanye Song" brackets. Neither of us remembered in the morning, but Get Em High was my apparent winner. It had to be his lead on the song (or WTT) which sucked because This Way by Dilated Peoples would have had an Elite Eight run for sure.
that all of the lights video is too sick. is the monster video completely off the internet? that one is awesome
My final four were Get Em High, Spaceship, Stronger and (I cheated on this one) Diamonds from Sierra Leone...the original song but with Jay-Z. If I could find a high-quality version of that I'd jizz. They performed it on the WTT throne. So it starts off with "Close your eyes and imagine, feel the magic" instead of "Throw your diamonds in the sky" BUT Jay comes out for his part. tl;dr I jizzed so hard when I heard it
lovin this thread. Also threw Reasonable Doubt in the car's CD player today. Was Feelin It Spoiler pun intended
