Some music but really only for reference. He tells the entire story from Kid n Play to Drake being murdered. Like he explains why Drake was ever allowed to exist. As someone that checked out of following music heavy in thr mid 2000's, him breaking down bow we got from Wu Tang and Pac to fucking Drake was nice.
He’s just an expert craftsman who makes things endlessly entertaining and doesn’t half ass wrt research or presentation. He could’ve cashed in quickly with something a month ago but instead he made a 7 part video that goes from the origins of hip hop/drake/kendrick/rap beef and numerous other topics that tie it all together. There’s definitely some music but it’s also done in a way that can be monetized.
i have the attention span of a squirrel which is why i don't listen to podcasts but im gonna try to watch all this shit bc i'm a big kendrick fan and i god damn hate drake
okay 7 minutes in this shit is good, my initials are dmc and i literally started listening to rap in rural arkansas at the age of like 8 or 9 bc i bought a run dmc tape and played that shit out
Watched all of it - v good. Engaging and rarely did I feel like it was dragging. At the end was tired though.
I really wasn't sure how he could spend 3.5 hours on this subject without losing me but he in fact nailed it.
For those who aren't aware, FD owes his YouTube success to the algorithm picking up his Bo Burnham Inside video. That's how I found him. I didn't know he was such a dork about rap at the time so I'm surprised he could stomach any of Bo's early work.
Not an allegation, it's a fact. Wayne has spoke about it. But that was a long time ago and they've been cool since.
Don't ask for your favorite rapper (He dead), yes, sir (amen), church (He dead), I killed him (amen), bitch
Jesus. Euphoria is such a good fucking song period without even getting into the why behind it and lyrics. I can’t quit throwing it on. I didn’t know anything about these two beforehand, but I absolutely hate Drake now
My main takeaway from endlessly cycling through the radio while my power's out is that Not Like Us is still fucking everywhere good lord
