and horrible ingredients it might be no sugar low carb but it ain’t good go to the coffee thread and get tips on equipment to make a better cup of coffee that won’t need artificial flavors
Took small jar of peanut butter and whipped it. Then mixed with a bag of hemp hearts from Trader Joe's, 1/4 cup of toasted flax seeds, swerve brown and granular sweetener, and 1/4 cup of Lily's chocolate chips. Mixed it together, spread in a small glass dish. Put it in the freezer and then cut into 30 small squares. 23 net g in the peanut butter 0 net grams in the hemp hearts per the label but I suspect there are hidden carbs (8 servings in the bag) 0 net grams in the toasted flaxseed per label but also expect some hidden carbs (2 servings in the batch) 6 net grams in the Lily's Even with the hidden carbs there isn't much more than 1 net g per square and they are fantastic.
Weighed 199 this morning. Under 200 for the first time in probably 7-8 years down 46 pounds since April 1st.
Was grocery shopping today and found a Quest frozen pepperoni pizza....50 total carbs in the pizza with 38 grams of fiber, so only 12 net. Picked one up for dinner. This is either going to go really good or really bad.
It was 7 bucks for basically a little smaller than a typical frozen pizza. It wasn’t bad actually. Satisfied a craving for sure and probably on par with like a Jacks or Red Baron frozen pizza. Nothing special but it tasted like low level pizza. Also haven’t lost the ability to burn the absolute shit out of the roof of my mouth, so that’s good too.
Up to 190 about go full keto starting tomorrow. Few things contributed to it but haven’t been eating right and haven’t been able to workout as much as I’d like.
Two fully committed weeks in. Down a pants size. I feel better overall, none of my monthly migraines yet like another poster also mentioned. Energy level is so constant throughout the week and I don't ever feel fatigued during the day. My hunger level is way down and I never feel the need to stuff my face until I'm uncomfortably full. It's tough to eat right on the weekends. Going to loosen the reigns a little in another week, don't really want to lose more then 2-3 more lbs at this point. Really impressed at how much I didn't hate doing this.
been doing IF/keto since march '18. down 95lbs. I keep saying I'll be getting into the gym. I know that is what I need to do to get down to my goal (207), but it would be cool to also step on the scale and it start with a 1. Haven't seen that in about 15 years. It's good to see this thread take off and so many MB'rs taking on the keto lifestyle. Nice work all.
Little contribution. Chaffles. A plain chaffle is 1/2 cup of cheese, 1 egg, and a pinch of salt. They're awesome for burgers, sandwiches, or eat as a waffle.
Got my wife on board and she’s all about making stuff to eat throughout the day. She made meatballs and those bacon egg muffin things to eat in the morning. Makes it a lot easier to pack my lunch. Hoping she sees results so she sticks with it and keeps up her Betty Crocker ways.
recently lost 20 lbs but have stalled. Def my diet as I still train 2x a day. Fasting for next 48 hours to push my body into ketosis and then digging into a keto diet. Does anyone have recipes or simple meal plan I can leverage posted in here? Can you quote me and quote your post so I don't have to dig through 100 pages. Sorry I haven't been participating but my time is very limited these days.
I have two Lou Malnati's sausage crust pizzas if anyone wants them. Fuck it. I'll even pay the shipping if anyone wants them. They're good but I'm not doing keto anymore.
Keto noob question here. I’ve tried googling and have had a tough time finding answers. On a standard 70/25/5 ratio plan, my understanding is the goal is to keep carbs as low as possible, so if I end a day with only 10g, that’s fine, just don’t go over 30g. Also, don’t go over on protein, but try to get a reasonable amount of the goal. Is it ok to go over on fat if the other 2 stay in check and total calories allow for it? Am I aiming for an exact ratio of 70/25/5, or is any ratio fine so long as protein/carbs don’t go higher?
I splurged on protein quite a bit but never cheated my carbs or calories and I dropped 47 pounds since April 1st. For the last month I’ve allowed myself to cheat a couple times a week, and just ate sensibly and I’ve maintained my weight with no gain.
one of the smaller satisfying keto tips buy a soap pump and pour your mct into that and just hit 3 pumps into your coffee soooooo much cleaner
As I understand it, increasing fat is to provide more fuel/satiety. Keep your carbs low and you’ll be alright.
Appreciate it. Stuck to it with more discipline than any diet I’ve ever done, and it was as effective as advertised. Lost all that weight with minimal exercise tbh.
I have gained and lost the same 6-8 lbs what feels like 34 times over the last 6 weeks. Early August was 226.6, today I am 227.6. We had a family vacation, two weddings, and wife and I went away for a weekend. I knew it was going to be tough, and admittedly I knew I was going to take some time off from it, but it’s just frustrating to be the same 6 weeks later. I know it’s my fault and it was just a perfect storm, but still annoys me. If I get down to 215, it will be 50 lbs total lost. Trying to get there by November.
Do intermittent fasting (16:8) and be strict with what you're taking in. You'll get there with ease. I'm very close to 100lbs down and I'll keep going...why not.
Yeah I mean when I am actively doing Keto I am still losing for sure, just too much time eating shitty due to the wild last 6 weeks. Gotta tighten things up and knock out this last bit. Great job on the 100 lbs!
Hey dudes, so I have some questions regarding Keto. I don't eat horribly, but I think I could still do better. 1. I've been just straight counting/proportioning calories for a few months and had some pretty good success losing weight. Is keto eating more effective than doing just that in terms of burning fat? 2. Do you notice a difference in overall energy level? Do you think part of that could be placebo related, or is it really noticeable? 3. How strict do you need to be with carbs to see the effects? tyfys
1. Still calories in and out game regardless so really the best thing is for you. How do you feel and are you eating healthy enough to lose as is. 2. Yes but this can be adjusted. 3. Very strict.
1. Yes. It keeps you feeling fuller longer than calorie restriction type diet. It also burns fat faster because that’s what you’re using for an energy source. 2. There is a energy level drop off the more you workout also the type of workouts matter imo. I noticed it but definitely had more endurance. Early on it kinda sucks but after a few weeks it kinda goes away. 3. Extremely strict. 20-50 carbs a day. Closer to the 20.
Can’t emphasize the third point enough. I cheated on my other macros occasionally (rarely cheated on calories, but protein I cheated on regularly) but I never went over 25 carbs for 4 straight months and weight just fell off.
stepped out for a random thursday afternoon wedding and “cheated” for the first time since starting was able to make a salad out of the main course option but couldn’t avoid that desert bar and i don’t even remember how much popcorn i pounded picking up my suit from the tailor and her telling me how much adjusting she had to do on a suit i bought last year
i was able to fight a ton of temptation, but that sundae bar got the best of me topped one of those nothing bundt cakes muffins with cookies and cream, cherries and caramel sauce i just got back from cloud nine
