Oh I know how to handle it now, but it was like my 3rd day on keto and I was super paranoid about hitting all my daily goals so I decided the best way to hit my fat goal was to chug some olive oil. Turns out that was not the best way to do it.
Also, just officially surpassed the 30 lbs lost mark this morning and I'm two days shy of two months on keto. I also feel better than I have in a long time. Can't tell you guys how happy I am to have clicked on this thread a few months ago and actually decided to dive into it - best decision I could have made.
Down to 235.0 this AM, a loss of 25.6 over 2-2.5 months. That’s within 3.2 lbs of my low from this time last year. Loose goal, but I hope to get to 210-215 by June 7th for the quarter marathon I’m running. And the resulting weekend feast that will accompany the mini-vacation.
4 slices of bacon cut up, handful of stoplight peppers diced, diced up handful of asparagus, 3 eggs, cheese, leftover pork chop cut up and all sautéed together. avocado to top after it’s done Don’t @ me haters
I know its only day 2 but I haven't missed sugar at all and I have a terrible sweet tooth. If I can handle that I think this will go well.
Saute bacon crumbles in butter, add rotisserie chicken, pile on blue cheese crumbles and stir to melt. Make wraps with bibb lettuce. no pics respect my decision
Just went ham at the grocery store. All the meats. If anyone has any good recipes for these, please let me know Bone in pork cuts (on sale) Beef brisket flat market trim
Sous vide for the pork, you can’t make it any better IMO. Easiest way to make a perfect protein across the board.
That’s been my most difficult. I’ve been having a lot (too many) berries and whip cream. There are some cinnamon fat bombs that people make. Amazon sells Atkins bars that are good and only 3 grams of carbs.
OK, take 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar, a crushed clove of garlic, and some crushed red pepper flake and heat in the microwave for 30-45 seconds on high. DO NOT take a whiff of this! Add in 2 cups of cold water to drop the temp. Once at roughly room temp, add to a gallon-size ziploc along with the chops. Let brine overnight in the fridge. Remove from bag, pat dry, then pan fry tomorrow with butter and olive oil.
Not sure how universal this was, but my Rite Aid had Quest bars 2 for $3. Small selection but had the goods (s’mores, cookie dough, cookies and cream, plus two others). Thought that would be useful information.
Has anyone made chocolate pudding? Looking into a recipe with cream and avocados. Curious about the taste of the avocado.
I went to the store on Sunday to get a skirt steak to make some phillies and they were having a “butcher day”. All the meat was 30-60% off (yes I’m sure they raised all the prices 25% before doing this). Walked out $120 poorer but my receipt said I saved 60 bucks. Thin chops like that ya gotta fry em. It’s the American thing to do. Next time ask the butcher if he’ll cut you some twice as thick and you can smoke them to temp and sear for some deliciousness. That brisket will probably be best in the crock pot with liquid smoke. It’s not big enough to truely smoke. The flats are the leaner parts of briskets, look for the points, they’re fattier and you can make burnt ends with them.
devine s noodles with homemade Alfredo sauce killing it tonight. Buy that shit if you have a noodle craving gents, they really fill the void perfectly.
Had never heard of this so I googled it. First sentence I read was “100% grass fed”, nope nope nope, closed that tab with the quickness.
Tempted to try. I'm sure it's more expensive than making your own but that's a lot of "bread crumbs" and I'm lazy.
don't be sleeping on coconut flour as breading i pan fry a ton of shit after coating in coconut flour, it's delicious
almond flour holds up better for me for breading. Don’t sleep on baking stuff instead of pan frying when using breading
Ventured into the poke bowl place in town for lunch yesterday and that was the right decision. Went with mixed greens instead of rice, got some spicy salmon and spicy tuna and some veggies with that wasabi aioli over the top. Mmmhmm that was delicious.
I think the weird aftertaste puts me off. If baked cheese by itself wasn't so good I might be more inclined to get more.
Was down to 200.2 before I went on a cruise 2/24. Came back a week later and weighed in at 213.2 . I'm back on keto and already back to 206.2. I think a lot of the weight gained was water weight from drinking/carbs.
I’ve had cheddar and sour cream and nacho cheese quest chips and they tasted the same. Bbq were a little bit better
