Anyone used gelatin to make pudding? Tried the chia seed one posted earlier but don't really enjoy it that much. Also tried grinding the chia seeds first to change the texture. 3 cups cashew milk (or whatever you like) 6 tbsp dark cocoa powder Monk fruit sweetener to taste 1 packet of gelatin 1 packet/envelope of gelatin to 3 cups of liquid should be a soft set. Would be 1.5 net carbs per 1/2 cup serving.
I’ve just whipped some cream and added some cocoa powder. Want to add avocado but haven’t made any lately because the fat bombs have lasted a while
Harris Teeter is next door so I went and grabbed some gelatin. 4 tbsp of cocoa powder seemed like enough. Then used 3 tbsp monk fruit sweetener and 1 pack of gelatin. Put it in bathroom cups in 1/4 cup servings. Now it sits for 24 hours in the fridge. Might need to adjust some ratios depending on how it turns out. Need to get some fat in there. Should have put a couple tbsp of cream in and probably will next time.
Did anyone hit a weight loss stall early on? I dropped 10 in a week. I’ve been sitting right at 200 for almost a week now. Haven’t been sneaking carbs. I haven’t been calorie tracking but I’m not downing triple cheese burgers are super unhealthy food. Portions have been fine but I’ve been lifting weights and running a lot so I’m burning a lot more than I’m eating. Haven’t drank at all since i started. I lifted a lot of weights since I started. That might have something to do with the weight loss itself stalling but not sure how much muscle you can actually put on in that short amount of time to counter the fat loss. I look skinnier just surprised the scale isn’t moving.
For me, yes. The first drop is water weight. Fat is gonna take time to to hit that caloric deficit. Also lifting is gonna cause your muscles to take up water, especially if you’re just starting or upping your frequency/intensity, so that will affect the scale too.
I did. Talked with Joe and I needed to eat more calories and more fat. Weight loss picked back up after that.
Ate the same thing again today. Easy to get Publix to portion it out for me for a couple of days at a time.
I would like to thank everyone for the don’t trust a fart comments. Keto poops have kicked in. Washing dishes and felt a fart coming almost just let it go then remembered this thread. Saved myself quite the predicament.
I need to get more fat in my diet, what are some good options? I’ve been eating an avocado at lunch, what else is good on that end?
I cook in butter and olive oil. Scrambled eggs with bacon and sausage. Burgers with an egg on top. Whatever you can come up with. I made taco salad with lettuce. High fat beef cooked in oil and butter with avacado and a bunch of veggies on it.
Just cooked a 7-8 oz rib eye on butter which helped get me close, im about 5 grams of protein over for the day but have only used about half my carbs
Buddy of mine has done keto for a while and swears by using MCT oil to supplement his fats as well, anyone use it?
Yeah it definitely helps supplement the fat. It has no taste at all. Can add it to your drinks or just drink it straight
I’ll need to get some good fat in once in a while, so I’ll just down 2 tbsp of olive oil. If I’m short on fat and calories, I’ll whip 1/2 cup of heavy cream with some cocoa powder. You’ll also see “fat bombs” mentioned in here once in a while. Those work and satisfy the sweet craving once in a while. Also, I always put 4-5 tbsp of heavy cream or a pat of butter in my AM coffee. Spread it out pretty evenly.
eat cheese and cured meats as a snack i used to just cut up a bunch of cheese/sopresseta and snack on that
These things cost $2.50 at Target. 1/3 a pack is 260 cals, 0 carbs, 10 protein, 24 fat. That’s my typical lunch/go to snack.
The almonds are amazing. Cottage cheese is pretty damn solid if you like cottage cheese and add pepper
Heading my way there I was 234.6 this morning so just over ten pounds down from when I started a week ago.
On a side note I’ve been taking a couple of tablespoons of mct oil in the evening to supplement my fat numbers if they’re low. Felt a fart coming this morning and remembered the words of wisdom in this thread to never trust a fart, and thank god I did, or chocolate thunder from down under would be staining my khakis right now.
was very dedicated from Jan 1st-Mid February that got me down 20lbs. Then turning 30, wedding planning, bachelor party, etc had me off and on from then until last week where I maintained within a couple lbs. Wasn't eating too poorly, but I definitely wasn't eating keto. Then been back on for a week got down to the current 22.2 total.
Overall, I’m down 31 lbs in approximately 3.5 months. Roughly halfway to my overall goal. Think it will take a while to drop the last 30.
https://www.wholesomeyum.com/recipes/easy-cheesy-loaded-cauliflower-casserole-recipe/ Made this tonight and it’s really good and I made it in like 25 minutes.
The pudding at the top of the page was just ok. Would need some adjusting but don't think I'll even fuck with it anymore. I've been making these for snacks and to take to work. 20g chopped pecans, 20g sliced almonds, 10g unsweetened coconut chips, 7g(1/2 serving) of Lily's chocolate chips. 3.8 net grams in the bag. With a 1/2 cup cashew milk as a "cereal" it's 4.3. Sometimes add cinnamon and sweetener. It's all pretty nutritionally dense so that's why I weigh it and portion it.
