Working lunch with sandwich, chips, and fruit cup. Avoided the cookie, however. The countdown to an unwanted nap has begun. Just hoping the gastrointestinal discomfort doesn’t hit. Definitely going to enjoy my run later today.
I moved from Gouda to a softer cheese today for lunch to get more fat and less protein. So I had a package of this (4 oz) 3 ounces of this And an avocado, which really helped lift my fat numbers and I’ll just have a chicken breast for dinner and be right on for my daily goals.
5 Italian sausage links 2 peppers 1-2 cups mozzarella cheese 1 cup pizza sauce Brown some Italian sausage links in a non-stick skillet. Remove and cut into chunks. Toss peppers into skillet and brown. Add back in sausage and pizza sauce. Heat through. Add cheese on top, broil until melted and golden brown. Fucking delicious.
https://www.delish.com/cooking/recipe-ideas/a26872644/cauliflower-parmesan-recipe/# Do it. I eat it with grilled chicken.
Portobello mushroom stufffed with rotisserie chicken thighs, bluecheese, and bacon crumbles. 325 for 25. Sauteed baby bock choy. Too damn easy.
It was a 2 egg, 6 slices of bacon breakfast burrito with mayo, seriously sharp white cheddar, and secret ardvark habanero sauce kind of morning. Didn't even bother trying to roll it up. Life is good.
has anyone heard of or tried this? https://magicspoon.com/ i haven't had cereal in years but it could be something i'd lean to when i don't want to cook eggs/meat. and i could see myself snacking on this instead of almonds.
Looks good. $40 is tough to soend on cereal though. After looking at the nutrition facts, I want to know how they get 3g net carbs. It shows 8g total and only 2g of fiber. My math gets me 6g net carbs for a 3/4 cup serving.
They have an FAQ question about it: "In our case, net carbs = total carbs - allulose - fiber = 3g." I'm guessing it's 2g of fake sugar that just runs through you. Like how some of the keto friendly ice creams use sugar alcohol.
Allulose is technically a sugar so the FDA requires it to be listed as a sugar on the label, but it's safe to subtract it from the total. Quest Hero bars contain allulose. I've seen ads for two different keto cereals but haven't pulled the trigger because it seems expensive. Will probably cave and try some at some point.
Bought a box of the one bars, got the birthday cake ones at the grocery store today and I ordered some cookies and creams on amazon that get here tomorrow. They’re really good, especially for satisfying the sweet flavor that I haven’t had in three weeks. Still 8 net carbs, but easy to work my way around getting one in on a day if I’m craving something sweet.
Excited to try the shirataki noodles. Making some meatballs and a low-sugar tomato sauce for them. Going to try this recipe method which mimics the Starbucks sous vide egg bites: https://skillet.lifehacker.com/how-to-make-starbucks-egg-bites-1832405379 Also down to 227, 36 lbs down since Christmas. Going to really try to kick some ass before vacation in early June with a goal of 215. Long shot of getting there, but we’ll see.
Dec 31....I weighed 175. 5'8 and it was literally all in my gut...I looked ''pregnant' my arms and legs are real skinny Today down to 150...will be starting to do keto about 75% of the time instead of 100% since it's the summer. Eating out 2x a month and potatoes once a week. Still avoiding sugar and keeping carbs under 30g every other meal. Best feeling? When people at work say they notice you've lost weight
All the classics minus brown sugar. 2 hrs like that so the meaty side is right above the drip pan and all that connective tissue starts melting then flip them for the final 4 hrs to get a good smoke and bark on.
Shirataki noodles + marinara + meatballs is a worthy stand-in. Think they would be good with some type of peanut sauce, broccoli, and chicken too.
Update: this stuff is decent especially for the low carb count, made what I will refer to as chicken pizza with it. Two grilled chicken thighs on the bottom, topped with 1/4 cup marinara sauce, and a quarter cup shredded mozzarella, and 8 pepperoni slices. Throw in the oven until the cheese melts on 350-400 4 net carbs 471 calories 32 g fat 40 g protein Will eat again.
We make this sometimes too but with chicken breast. We make our own marinara and then hasselback the chicken and stuff the creases with the marinara and peps. Then at the end we’ll add bell pepper and onion (my wife would add mushroom as well but I don’t love them) and then give it a quick sprinkle of red pepper flake and Parmesan on top with some shredded fresh basil
Just had it by itself last night but this is one of my favorites right now. I spread a little mayonnaise on the top when I roasted the cauliflower this time. It melts in and helps the browning. I broiled the top of the cauliflower at the end of that part before adding the sauce and cheese and broiling again.
Unbelievably excited this AM: Under 225 for the first time in 8 years and under 30% body fat. Since Christmas, down 36lbs and 7% bf. Think 215 might be a realistic goal before vacation. Hell yes!
Made this last night turned out great. Recipe below, I use slightly lower carb sauce than they recommend (4 net per serving vs 5 net per serving), but it takes like 30 minutes and minimal effort to make, the serving size is generous (1/6th of a 9x13 casserole pan), and it tastes good. https://www.wholesomeyum.com/recipes/keto-low-carb-pizza-casserole-recipe-easy/
Started this diet... Cheated this weekend. Some of the water weight came back, so that was disappointing. I knew it because I ate like 800 total calories yesterday and woke up more than I did the day before. Anyway, back on the grind. My biggest trouble is always keeping the Fat to Protein ratio right. If it were the other way around it would be no problem, but 3:1 is pretty tough.
I’ve switched to eating a salami type meat for lunch most days, helps my fat and protein numbers level out a lot more than eating lean chicken or turkey. Avocados also help, and some mtc oil is helpful too.
The gas station i visit most often has bai, wild bills jerky, quest bars, and packages of cheese. I really love that place.
