last few seasons were bad if we're being honest so expectations are very low but I'm still excited about this
there was a dropoff but we're talking the drop from Simpsons S3-9 to S10-14 not S15-, it was still excellent work by Judge & Co. I think the skipping of time will be why this works. Hank vs change is arguably the #1 point in the overall theme of the show, bringing him into the modern world will give a multitude of paths to take on various subjects that we've all lived through. if this was just picking up where the series left off then yea, it might be more worrisome to me because the well had started to run dry but there's so much for them to draw from now that I'm optimistic. as long as they don't turn it into "old man yells at clouds" (anymore than Hank often bemoaned things) then I think it'll be fine.
Story i heard this morning was that it was his childhood home. The POS who killed him had previously been known to do things harrassing them as well as other neighbors being pretty shitty toward them basically for being gay and yea they found the dog skull that day which im sure sent him into a yelling at the neighborhood crazy looking person. Fucking wears me out this kind of thing can still happen in a place just a short drive from my home, in a major city.
I was a propane man Along the streets of Arlen I did ride Enrique and Joe Jack by my side Many a young maid lost her dollars to Buck’s trade Many a tank shed its flames in our shade The charcoal got me at Kahn’s one time But the Vogner Char-King’s still divine Back to propane all the time
as I saw others comment, the animation is a bit off but that's whatever. however, the humor is exactly where it was when the show originally ended so that's all that really matters.
the chef scene is pretty clearly different. wonder if it's genuinely her doing it lower or if they just had her do Bobby as a kid and pitched it down. Toby Huss makes a decent run at Dale, it seems (alley scene with the kid playing soccer). hopefully it won't be too distracting. it was either write off the character, seriously damaging the interpersonal relationships the show is built on (especially now when Dale's paranoia can be used best) or re-cast and I think they made the right decision. it makes sense for Lucky or Luann, where their characters are tertiary but writing Dale off would be disastrous.
Id love for lucky/luann to make an appearance through a zoom call or FaceTime or something where they spliced old sound footage (?) or whatever and they’re doing something completely ridiculous like working from Portugal or something
