‘King Of the Hill’ Revival Eyed By Fox -TCA Fox successfully brought back one canceled animated series, Family Guy, which has become an anchor of the network’s Sunday comedy block. Now the network is looking to do the same for another one, King of The Hill. Created by Mike Judge and Greg Daniels who would go on to do Silicon Valley and The Office, King Of the Hill ended its 13-season run in 2009. It is produced by Fox’s sister studio. Following Fox’s TCA executive session, Fox chairman Dana Walden revealed that the network met with the creators about two and a half months ago about revisiting the series, centered on a middle-class family living in Texas. “We had a very preliminary conversation,” Walden told reporters. “Given what’s going on in the country, (Judge and Daniels) had a point of view about how these characters would respond.” She qualified the meeting as “exploratory” as both Daniels and Judge are very busy but stressed that they both are “excited about” reviving King of the Hill. “So it’s about finding time,” Walden said. Daniels also had had conversations with NBC about rebooting The Office with a new cast.
They would really need the episodes to be written by Judge again. Love LOVE KotH, but those final couple of seasons weren't the best as Judge didn't have as much of a hand in it. Also, FOX (I assume) can go fuck themselves with a rusty piece of rebar for basically not allowing any KotH clips on youtube. There are a million great lines in that show that are video worthy, yet almost none exist.
just found it on Hulu I have been loving the adult animation section of Hulu for a while now and never noticed it. Must be newly added hooooo baby
Got added November 1, King of the Hill that is. They've been building their adult animation selection for a while now though
“That’s enough Hank’s wife. If you got any more feelings to express, go in the kitchen and put em in a bundt cake” — Cotton Hill
“Hank, I don’t know if there’s a God or a heaven, but one thing I can tell you is your daddy’s goin to hell.”
Hmm might need to resubscribe to Hulu. I've been constantly DVR'ing it for years. Since the move to Comedy Central the eps start slightly off the hour and half hour so episodes overlap recording windows which is annoying.
downloaded the series once Netflix betrayed me Dale: "they'll drug test everybody in Arlen! The price of clean urine will double" Bill: "what about the price of poo poo?" Dale: "unchanged"
Dale: Bill! Bill, you have to be the stupidest man on the planet to think this is a good idea! Have you seen what you're wearing?! That outfit makes you look like a sequined train wreck! Look at you! You're part of a twelve-headed jackass! This chorus is the feces that is produced when shame eats too much stupidity! You people make me envy the deaf and the blind! Guhbuh! Underwear! Money! Fat! Ngyuh... Dale collapses] Bill: But, I belong to something great here. I've even got a nickname: "William".
Just started on Hulu. FYI, Hulu always gives you deals when you go to cancel. Normally they give you a free month. Then after the free month, cancel again and they will soon email you an offer of $5.99 a month for either six months or a year. If you are paying full price then you are doing it wrong.
You can't on base without taking a swing The pitcher could walk me, couldn't he? Don't play lawyer-ball, son.
Why pay $10 when you can pay $6? A UNC athlete who can't read even knows that is the smart thing to do.
-thread about a fun cartoon -someone tries to give a helpful tip -I know, let’s call him a fucking loser! Tobias is super cool.
Because the time and effort worrying about canceling it is worth about 20 bucks a month, so only an idiot would waste 11 bucks a month just to cancel Hulu.
What’s the best episode in the series in yalls opinion? I will always have a special place in my heart for the episode where the entire Hill clan gets hooked on cigs. “You're callin' me weak? Look at your little birdy arms, they're no thicker than a cigarette! I could smoke them little arms!”
The two-part when they go to Japan (if we can count two-parts) or the two-part where Debbie gets murdered.
I know what's wrong with it. It's a Ford. You know what they say Ford stands for, don't ya? It stands for fix it again, Tony.
current top 5 subject to change 1. a fire-fighting we will go 2. hank's back story 3. returning japanese 4. the fat and the furious 5. yankee hankee
One of my favorite moments is from Dog Dale Afternoon when Dale is in the tower and Boomhauer is pleading with him over the megaphone and Dale says “Boomhauer, if I ever heard anyone reading from a script, that was it.”
Isle 8A is a personal favorite. Connie gets her first period and Hank has to navigate the seldom traveled isle 8A for feminine products.
This is a fine list I tell you what. Personally I drop returning Japanese and move isle 8A into the mix. Also yankee hankee gets dropped for A Beer Can Name Desire. Bill getting chased by the widows is such a good sub plot and southern sophisticated Bobby kills me for some reason.
the latter is probably in the 6-8 range for me as it introduces the best minor character in the whole series: gilbert
My favorite episodes include: The boggle tournament that includes the Dallas Mower Expo and the mower stunt team Rad Thibodeaux Any episode with MF Thatherton, the Colonel Flagg of KOTH When Cotton corrupts Bobby The magic episode with David Cross as Ward Rackley
For my presentation, I've chosen the smartest and most photogenic of all the Presidents, Mr. Martin Sheen. President Sheen is a Nobel Prize winner in economics yet loves poetry. And despite round the clock meetings, death threats and MS, he still finds time for playful banter with his senior staff.
"Now I know why they call you 'Pa', cause you're PA-Thetic" "And I know why they call you 'Ma', cause you're always riding MA ass"
i think the most underrated, and possibly my favorite, part of the show is the relationship between Dale and Cotton
