jokes on me haha nvm
The 4.6 million he got was a signing bonus, correct? What was the base salary he signed for?
Base salary is pretty much what every other minor leaguer makes, which is nothing.
how pissed off are other teams right now
I would say the players more so. Veterans are tweeting how glacially slow the offseason is while the MLB is moving mountains to have a player that hasn't played a minor league game.
Not a great look.
If he went to the nfl and gave up baseball would the A’s get a compensatory pick?
Probably not close to how pissed off you are.
Best athlete since bo? Lol, someone is not feeling well
You're probably right, but this mentality is a big part of the PA's problems. They willingly negotiated the rights away for players in the draft and International market. The last CBA they negotiated cost Ohtani a minimum for $100M. If they're mad about this, fuck them because they just don't get it.
How does it compare to you after the nd-clemson game
I was pretty calm to be honest
I was a lot more excited when Stanford beat Oregon this year, that was a funny one.
Well the PA has problems way beyond this, won't get an argument from me.
No, because he signed originally.
You are just projecting, ask Trop if you want
That's not what projecting means
That’s why I was curious about it, even if he voids the contract and pays back the bonus there’s no compensation? That’s rough on the A’s.
And this isn't really the thread to talk about them in. Just saying that mentality of fucking over young players and putting all the eggs in the arbitration/FA basket is biting them in the ass right now.
Yes, are you always so wrong about everything?
You projected that I would have a certain reaction and it never happened. That is projecting, it doesn’t matter that it happened in the past you were still projecting.
Maybe I phrased it wrong, peu importe. You are still a bit of a bitch right now. Especially being the Oregon fan laughing at Nd losing to Clemson.
No one cares
I remember that you handled the loss better than the last time we beat you guys.
You started the conversation....
Tallest midget I guess
Are you really going to argue that Aaron Rodgers is a world class athlete? That's the hill you want to die on?
It's amusing how desperate the MLB looks here
Kevin Murray played this beautifully. A’s might put his son on the 40 man, but not sure this is the best organization to pay him more money
MLB has definitely set itself up to take a big L if he plays football.
That's not a good look, MLB.
All these poor bastards going through arbitration right now to scrape an extra million or so in their 4th pro year (or whatever) after being in the minors for 4.
So the A's didn't contemplate multiple scenarios of how their 1st rd pick that is also a talented football player may want to play football?
I think its fair to say they didn't intend on adding him to the 40 man immediately and giving him more cash.
This does nothing for me. Murray has leverage. Players should be looking for any player (majors or minors) who has leverage to maximize their ability to make more money.
Other players may not find all that beneficial for them, though, considering other players are also not supremely talented in a second big-money sport.
This is nuts.
How many players benefit from Harper or Machado signing 10 year deals averaging $30M per? Realistically, that costs more players money than it helps.
The players have consistently negotiated away the rights of amateur American and International players for more than a decade, and they sat around and did nothing last year while MLB pushed a law through congress to keep minor leaguers living in poverty instead of making better wages. If players are mad at Murray for using this leverage (which players of his ilk used to have before the PA fucked them over), they can go fuck themselves.
Not really for college. His slash line was not in the top 150(D1)in any of the 3 categories. I get he’s a hell of an athlete, but I always thought it was a reach for the A’s to draft him 9th overall.
why am i pissed off?
Good for him. Make as much money as possible by holding whatever leverage you have.
Allen, TX just fucking the whole game up. Secure the bag(s) Kyler.
Has Jen Rainwater weighed in with her final pitch yet?
