well... those scouts would be wrong.
just takes one team, he wouldn't make it out of the first round if he picked football over baseball
In this weak of a QB draft? lol yeah right
I cant wait to see your dumb ass go down in flames
rapsheet needs to update his rolodex
I don't see him as a lock first round pick. The further away he gets from the season, he more teams will question the size, system, experience, etc. People are also looking at his draft status very optimistically now because of the baseball thing. Projecting him higher makes it a great chance he chooses football, which is good from a media narrative standpoint.
you talking about the system that just produced the #1 overall pick and possible rookie of the year?
Is there anything that prevents him from playing baseball even once he gets drafted by an NFL team. I have to think that’s a factor of uncertainty for NFL GMs as well.
we'll just disagree. I believe the hole is that it doesn't have to be consensus. Can literally be 1/32 teams believe he is a first round pick, and he will go. Lamar Jackson isn't accurate/can't throw, 1st round. Tebow couldnt throw, 1st round. List goes on and on of QBs that have flaws in their game, but tons of production and the "IT" factor. Kyler checks those boxes, and is a much more accomplished passer, he's just small. Baker/Russell are helping convince teams Kyler can do it, and neither are near as fast/athletic as him.
Call me Baseball_Jen
Jerry Jones ain't passing on Kyler Murray in the first round.
Yes, I'm talking about that system. It's not a knock on OU. Calm down.
Do you consider Joe Montana, Tom Brady, and Peyton Manning to be elite level athletes?
That would be another question, although I'm guessing they would have something in the contract language where he would have to pay back bonus money if he did that.
Yes dbl, 3 of the most successful professional athletes of all time are elite athletes.
I assume John Daly is a great athlete too? Bartolo Colon? Pablo Sandoval?
I contend one can be a professional athlete while not being a world class athlete.
no, you are contending that one can be a professional athlete without being particularly athletic, which has the same root word but a different meaning.
hope that helps.
Bartolo Colon is a sick athlete. dont let the size fool you
Hey dbl, is your local high school’s top hurdler a better athlete than Derek Jeter?
He’s faster and jumps higher! That’s all that counts right
if not this week, what about next week then?
you posed it like the nfl would have a problem with the system he played in though. if anything, it’s now a positive thing?
multiple arguments that could go pages each in one thread
o/u 26 pages by tomorrow
I consider being elite at throwing a football athleticism as it is a task that takes great physical ability and is part of a sporting competition.
We are turning into QBU. Ryan Tannehill, Johnny Manziel, Jerrod Johnson, Kyle Allen and now Kyler Murray. And that's just recently.
Don't forget Jameis, Ponder, and EJ.
Baker Mayfield having success in the NFL doesn't really mean anything for Kyler Murray. Unless an NFL team is going to hire someone to run an offense similar to Riley's, I don't really see how it's a positive that he came from that offense.
John Daly has one of the most athletic swings in the history of the tour, with insane hand eye coordination to go with it. The things his body does when he hits his driver are beyond uncommon. Guy is a freak.
Jesus what a murderers row.
You put him on the level of a prime Adrian Peterson, Lebron James, Patrick Peterson, Julio Jones, Mike Trout, Usain Bolt?
Kyle Busch a great athlete?
He played one defense with a pulse all season and got his ass kicked. Not sure why that makes him some sure fire stud to anyone.
Probably. Jeter was good at hitting a baseball. I wouldn't say he was a world class athlete.
Would dallasdawg be making this strong of an argument if Kyler played for the #Georgia Bulldogs ?
riley’s offense is predicated on actually reading the defense and requires all of the nfl throws. baker was a lot more prepared than people gave him credit for and kyler will be the same
the offense is a lot different than those that guys like haskins, lock, and grier played in
You consider Aaron Rodgers to be a world class athlete.
Yea but what about when he played Bama?
how many people in the world can do what aaron rodgers does?
Define “getting his ass kicked”
Didn’t he accumulate 400 yards vs Bama?
lol couldn't help yourself but throw a Bammer in there huh?
only qb to ever throw for 300 and rush for 100 against saban
You’re having a decent day, almost got me to respond seriously to this.
He's one of the most athletic players in the league
And no one is going to be viewing the offenses that Haskins, Lock and Grier played in as a positive. All of them of are the kinds of offenses that historically haven't translated as well to the pros. And none of those three guys are 5'10". Doesn't mean none of them can/will succeed, but I think NFL teams evaluating Murray would prefer he came from an offense more similar to what he would likely be asked to run in the league.
He's no Trent Richardson that's for sure.
Great athlete, terrible vision.
look at the 4 teams left in the playoffs. what exactly is different about ou’s offense than any of them?
just say you didn’t watch any games, that’s fine p
