I'm having way too much fun digging through 2020 result demos in swing states. PA- independents are a smaller chunk of the electorate, ~20% of the boting population, (30-34% in southern states). They only broke 52-44 for Biden. And a full 7% of registered dems broke for Trump, which is relatively high. Even if just that number decreases by 1% and everything else remains the exact same, that nets Harris like 50k more votes in addition to the 12k winning margin in '20. Pnk%$krtjection: only 5% dem defection rate, repub defection rate from 8-->10%, independents break 60-40 for Harris and Harris wins, let's say, 53-45 GA- stands out that dems only defected 4%, repubs only 6%. Pnk$krtjection: Think GA's got a lower ceiling for Trump hate than rust belt. 2% more pubs break for Harris, everything else stays roughly the same. Harris wins 52-47. NC- see previous poast. Michigan- Gretch hands it on a platter We're not even talking about WI, AZ, NV after 11pm. They may fuck themselves however they wish.

The Shit Pit got bad because they wouldn’t stop posting obvious white supremacist tweets even after being asked to stop. That was the reason for the purge. I believe that thread was popping up on google searches regarding those Twitter accounts because they kept re-posting all of the tweets from those accounts.
Haven't and won't read the story, but my guess is some moron captured wildlife and thought it was a pet. DNR found out and correctly took the wildlife away and had to dispatch it because it was imprinted on humans.
This is a long one but figured I’d share with you all in case anyone else here is in a similar situation. My parents are your classic Republican lifers but not a part of the MAGA cult and we generally ignore talking politics. Yesterday we briefly talked politics and my dad was in full on gaslighting mode, so I decided to try something new and sent them this today, we’ll see how it goes but I’ve got to say it feels great to get it off my chest and say it to my parents. Spoiler: My Long Appeal Dearest Parentals, after our conversation yesterday it dawned on me that it seems like we keep having this political conversation where we try to act like this is a normal political climate and Trump is a normal candidate. Where we talk about fringe issues or how fair or unfair the media is being to either candidate. Frankly, none of that matters to me as this comes down to a few very simple questions. Do I want my kids to grow up in a Donald Trump future? Where men can say or do whatever they want to women and minorities and get away with it? Where the majority of his staff says he is a fascist and should not be allowed back in power? Where the Supreme Court is packed with extremists pushing a Christian nationalist agenda? If a candidate can’t pass those questions which I would categorize as a “human decency” test, then there is no other subject that matters. There is no amount of tax cuts I can receive or privileges that are returned to white guys that can change the fact that Trump is a fascist. You always wonder who voted for Mussolini and Adolf; well here we are, with nearly identical rhetoric being used and a rally at msg meant to signal to the fringe right that he is using the fascist playbook. We will see on Tuesday who those people are today. Am I certain he’ll go full on nazi? Absolutely not. Do I think he’ll follow a less insane version of fascism a la Mussolini? Yes, when you hear it from his generals, his cabinet and his VP, that’s a big deal. If he’s too much of a fascist for Mike Pence and Dick Cheney, we should all stop all other conversations cause that’s all that matters. Do I agree with all or even most of Kamala’s policies? No, far from it. Do I view her as someone who can bring people together and create a workable form of government to get things done and maybe start to heal some of the craziness in this nation? Yes. Hell maybe this will be the death blow to the insanity that is MAGA and we can get back to the Romney, McCain, Adam Schiff Republican world. Pops, I know you prioritize the economy and have long developed mistrust of democrats, but this is exactly what Trump and team are counting on, that you’ll be a “team player” or “company man” and ignore the simple economics that Trump is going to run up the national debt, that tariffs are not good for us, the consumer, or the long term strategic development of the economy. But again, even if there was somehow a way to defend his plan other than hand waving about how great things were in his first term (which I don’t understand cause all he did was rack up $8T of national debt and spike oil prices post Covid) none of that matters. Is a Trump world one you want your granddaughter to grow up in? The rhetoric he uses about women is abhorrent and frankly not something I could ever imagine my father supporting. I know you to be kind and loving, putting family above all else. I also know the world is changing at a faster rate than ever before, and it has to be extremely jarring to see us go from the Jim Crow world to a push for equality of all people regardless of race, gender or sexuality; where the red scare was an everyday thing and nationalism was our greatest tool in resisting the commies. But society evolves, we can all be better, do more together and fight against evil. The threat to our world isn’t some trans kid playing against your granddaughter in sports, it’s the autocrat in Russia and the autocrat currently leading the Republican Party. As a parent I now understand what it means to be willing to do anything to protect your kids from harm, and republicans are the single greatest threat to my kids, there isn’t a close second. Between women’s health, rfk’s vaccine plan, and gun control, the domestic threats to my kids is unacceptably high, then there is the whole Russia thing. You are smart and know how this plays out, if Trump gets in and hands Ukraine over to Putin, that will just be another appeasement to him. Putin will regroup and rebuild the Russian economy before moving on to other neighboring countries and the Middle East. Maybe we time it right and whatever that conflict is happens before your grandson is old enough to fight. But what if we don’t or if it is a drawn out conflict? I see it as a near certainty that handing over Ukraine would lead to future and more substantial conflicts with Russia, and likely China in Taiwan too. We have a deeply flawed system where we are stuck picking between the lesser of two evils, but it’s still the best system in the world and we can’t let a racist, sexist, 78 year old destroy it. With all that being said, I hope you’ll listen to us, the generation that will have to live with the repercussions of this election. The generation who will have to raise kids in either a country based on hope and compassion or one based on fear and hatred. We are the generation who is willing to sacrifice a little of our own financial gains for the betterment of all, that serves as a symbol to the rest of the world for what is possible, isn’t that the shining city on the hill that Reagan described and that I know we all want? This is our chance to be on the right side of history, and I hope you’ll join us.
Are we sure Kamala is actually running behind all the senate candidates? I’m having a hard time rationalizing why she would in certain states. Vs Lake in Arizona (and ofc governor race in NC) I get since she’s horrible, but elsewhere it doesn’t make a lot of sense for Trump/DemSenator votes to occur. In the event this is a big victory we might look the senate polling and see it ran close to the top of the ticket. Everything I read and see with my own eyes leads me to believe the energy and ground game for Kamala far outweighs Trump. I needed something like the Selzer poll to confirm my suspicions but now I just can shake the idea that perhaps this our cycle for a massive polling miss.
