Minimum Deal and Lance Stephenson for $4.3 million (via the room exception), which will be added AFTER the Lakers exhaust their cap space. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Math and Rules to Sign Kawhi to Max Next Summer (After Keeping Randle) To keep Randle and have enough max space next summer, we first need to dump Deng without any money coming back and, in the meantime, we can't sign Randle to a deal of anything more than say 4 years, $54 million this summer. Here's the math - $37,430,000......LeBron James (1) $32,700,000......Kawhi Leonard (2) $13,000,000......Julius Randle (3) $8,719,320........Lonzo Ball (4) $7,265,485........Brandon Ingram (5) $2,164,680........Moritz Wagner (6) $1,974,600........Kyle Kuzma (7) $1,934,160........Josh Hart (8) $897,158...........Min Salary (9) $897,158...........Min Salary (10) $897,158...........Min Salary (11) $897,158...........Min Salary (12) ____________ $108,776,877 $109,000,000 (Cap) - $108,776,877 (Salaries) = $223,123 cap space left
Did the rookie salary increase this year? Wagner making more than Kuzma when Kuzma was a higher draft pick last year. And it looks like it will be impossible for them to get three max guys as FAs without getting rid of Randle, Ball, and Ingram next summer. Or am I reading shit wrong?
Leonard is in the next year list already. They need to offload Deng as an expiring and get Randle to come in under the # above
Yes, I know. But in that list, there is less than a million left in cap room with only 8 players signed. That's obviously not enough money left to go get a third max-contract level player.
Randle renounced....must have something bigger coming so Lakers sign Rondo. Weird team construction going on.
#Kansas Jayhawks fans can you tell us more about this 3 point specialist? He's looked great in Summer League
He was pretty hyped coming out of Ukraine and it took him a while to live up to his potential but he got there. Still needs some work on ball handling and not falling asleep on d but he can shoot and is tall enough to get over NBA defenders. He's also like a full year younger than normal college seniors so he still probably has room to develop.
I don’t think he’ll ever be more than average on defense, and his wingspan is a couple inches shorter than his height. By the end of his career at KU he was a terrific outside shooter, especially from the corners. He’s got a decent handle and is a good passer as well. He’s still young and has a chance to grow into a reliable if undersized wing off the bench. I hope he’s one of LeBron’s catch and shoot options in a couple years.
Maybe it was because he deferred to our ball dominant guards of the past years but that was the most ISO scoring Svi has ever had in a game over the last 4 years.
I think Svi is a steal in 2nd round and can develop into a solid bench player. NBA spacing will be his friend if everyone sags on Lebron and gives him time to pull the trigger. He just turned 21 yrs old in June and has improved each year we've seen him. If he had redshirted as a 17 yr old freshman he would be blowing up next year like Graham/Mason did their senior seasons.
Its really been excellent. Since 2014, I only see Anthony Brown as being a dud. But he was a second rounder. Thomas Bryant maybe but I think he'll have a role on a new team, Lakers just no longer had room for him. Bonga, we'll see if that project works out. Also as far as second rounders go, I consider a "hit" being solid role player. Julius Randle Jordan Clarkson Dangelo Russell Larry Nance Anthony Brown Brandon Ingram Ivica Zubac Lonzo Ball Kyle Kuzma Josh Hart Thomas Bryant Moritz Wagner Isaac Bonga Svi
Cap Space Math to Sign Kawhi (after Deng Dump or Stretch) in Summer 2019 The only way to trade for Kawhi right now is to include at least $16.1m in salary. We cannot use any of the free agents we signed (Rondo, Stephenson or McGee) in a trade until after December 12, 2018. We cannot use KCP in a trade because he has a 1 year deal (after extending with the Lakers), making it so he has a no trade clause. To sign Kawhi next summer of 2019, we will need to either dump Deng or stretch him. If we stretch him, we'll need to rescind all of our rights/cap holds for our FAs. Here is the math - $37,430,000......LeBron James (1) $32,700,000......Kawhi Leonard (2) $8,719,320........Lonzo Ball (3) $7,265,485........Brandon Ingram (4) $2,164,680........Moritz Wagner (5) $1,974,600........Kyle Kuzma (6) $1,934,160........Josh Hart (7) $1,550,000...…...Sviatoslav Mykhailiuk (8) $1,416,852........Isaac Bonga (9) $897,158...........Min Salary (10) $897,158...........Min Salary (11) $897,158...........Min Salary (12) ____________ $97,846,571 $6,200,000........Luol Deng (1 year $18.8m Stretched) ____________ $104,046,571 Deng Dump: $109,000,000 (Cap) - $97,846,571 (Salaries) = $11,153,429 cap space left Deng Stretch: $109,000,000 (Cap) - $104,046,571 (Salaries) = $4,953,429 cap space left
The Los Angeles Lakers greatly appreciate your desire to become a Season Ticket Member. Due to the unwavering support of our current Season Ticket Members, we were unable to accommodate your request to purchase season seats for the 2018-2019 NBA Season. A 99% season ticket renewal rate this year did not leave us with enough available seats to offer all our fans on the wait list. no surprise. I moved up 100 spots on the list.
