No it's not akin to taking a knee. When in football you take a knee, your possession is guaranteed the last possession so you're just running out the clock. The scenario I was talking about is when there is more time left in the game than the shot clock. So the possession is not the last possession of the game. The only reason they're doing it is to not run up the score. However, the losing team gets the ball back and more often than not, they use the last seconds to take an uncontested layup despite the fact that the other team is dribbling the clock out. It's like "oh we're sorry for beating you. Here, take the ball...we won't take anymore shots, but feel free to score an extra basket despite our mercy."
Who knows, I only brought it up as a pet peeve. And then clarified it when it appeared my point about it was being missed. Feel free to carry on, all good
I’ll always love Magic. I first started watching basketball at 7 or 8 for those pistons finals. The victory against Portland in the 91 WCF was great. All that being said, I can’t believe he was running the organization 16~ months ago.
Definitely did us a favor when he left, but at the time hensure did cause the Lakers some shit. Laker fans will forgive but not forget about the shitty way he left and then immediately went on a ESPN shit talking tour. On the day we announced the new coach, no less.
Also, wasted opportunity tonight. The way they played I'm surprised the game was that close. Confident in them getting back on track for game 4 up and take care of business.
The refs took AD out of that game, not only with the early fouls but he couldn’t be aggressive on either side of the ball when he was on the floor with the 4 fouls knowing they were gonna be ticky tack with him. How LBJ isn’t at the FT line for at least 10 attempts a game with all the contact he takes blows my mind. You couldn’t look at Butler the wrong way without him getting free throws and LeBron takes way more hacks driving the bucket
LeBron needs to accept that they are officiating him like he’s the 3rd guy off the bench for some reason and just keep playing
I don't know how it's taken 2 full games and KCP of all people discovered that Duncan Robinson indeed blows on defense, need to just run Hero and Robinson off the floor whenever they're in man defense.
Not having game 5 being in front of a Staples crowd chanting Kobe's name in the closing seconds will be one of the biggest bitter sweet moments in franchise history.
KCP has been everything I thought Danny Green might have brought to this team and then some. And Danny Green has been a homeless version of what I thought KCP was gonna be.
Because that was absolutely the right play, a 3 point shooter had nobody within 5 feet of him, but it just so happens Danny Green has been fucking garbage.
Danny Green is 12 for 39 from the field, 9 for 31 from three in the Finals. 2 years $30 million dollars.
I mean, frozen there, it looks bad...but Jimmy has plenty of time to jump a less than bullet pass there.
i honestly don’t watch enough to argue and don’t want to look like a douche in a thread I don’t participate enough in. It was a causal observation. It just seems like he puts himself in that situation too much. But, like I said I’ll defer to you guys who are more knowledgeable.
Lebron had 0 chance of driving into a 1 on 1 like Butler did on the previous possession because there isn't a Duncan Robinson type of shooter on the Lakers, that and the Heat were absolutely willing to let any of the other non AD bums shoot a wide open 3 for the win.
Throwing it into Davis is the right move. He’s got his man pinned right under the basket. An on target pass and you are looking at 2 free throws at worst. Just a pitiful display from Morris.
Danny Green has been fucking awful. Kuzma has been nowhere near what at least I expected him to be in these playoffs. Morris made a bad pass at the end but he’s actually been pretty damn good overall. Let’s hope AD is 100% and end it in game 6. I don’t want to see a game 7.
ratings have been awful and the league never misses a chance to manufacture drama so I'm looking forward to more dubious Jimmy Butler double digit FT attempts and Duncan Robinson flailing like Stuart doing the "Look what I can do" bit from MAD TV
Insane season. Got the ring. Kobe will be missed forever but it should not overshadow the celebration tonight
