As long as he is good. We need him to not be a bust
Forgive my ignorance but why are there TBD dates on this schedule? Is it like possible flex?
Not sure I understand the falcons dates but I think the last game is always tbd so they can have all the teams with stakes play at the same time. That way you don’t know what result you need.
I think the Falcons game can be either Saturday or Sunday, that’s the No bowl game weekend IIRC. Guess the NFL is letting the games be flexed that weekend so we don’t end up with the Jags vs the Seahawks or some other shit show.
I feel shocked
Sucks. Hope it’s minor cause all signs were pointing to a good return for him.
Loomis is a cap wizard, but man we're going to regret that contract.
We already do regret it
I know it’s just preseason by after two weeks he’s the highest grades rookie. Might be a good sign
Man this is a tough schedule
Saw Underhill tweet something to the effect of not worried about Thomas, it's minor.
I saw he was the highest rated 1st game, and run blocking he was solid but pass blocking he had some work to do. This week I didn't watch the game as closely but looked like he's better pass blocking and still solid run blocking. I wouldn't be upset to have him be the Tackle eligible guy to start the season with Hurst getting primary job.
Our OL scouting is pretty awesome.
Yikes CJGJ + 7th for 5th & 6th.... he must've been a shit bag in the locker room to give him away like that.
All you basically need to know is that not trading him wouldve given a better comp pick, they wanted him OUT
By the numbers: Youngest player, oldest player and everything you need to know about Saints' roster
BY ROD WALKER | Sports columnistAug 30, 2022 - 6:53 pm
The New Orleans Saints trimmed their roster to 53 players on Tuesday.
Here are some numbers to know.
Shortest player: Deonte Harty (5-6).
Tallest player: Well, it’s a 4-way tie for that honor.
Offensive linemen Andrus Peat, Landon Young, Trevor Penning and defensive end Tanoh Kpassagnon are all listed at 6-7.
Smallest player: Yep. Harty again. He’s listed at 170 pounds.
Biggest player: Penning. The first round draft pick is 325 pounds.
Youngest player: Wanna feel old? Rookie receiver Chris Olave, drafted in the first round, was born in the Year 2000. He’s the first Saints player born in the 2000s.
Oldest player: Andy Dalton. The backup quarterback turns 35 in October.
What school has produced the most Saints? Well, this shouldn’t come as a surprise. It’s Ohio State. There are six former Buckeyes on the roster: Michael Thomas, Marshon Lattimore, Bradley Roby, Nick Vannett, Pete Werner and Chris Olave. The University of Tennessee is next with 4: Alvin Kamara, Shy Tuttle, Marquez Callaway and Alontae Taylor.
Seven other schools have two players on the roster: LSU, BYU, Florida State, Oregon, Stanford, Texas A&M and Wisconsin.
Which conference has produced the most current Saints? The SEC leads the way with 13, followed by the Big 10 with 11 and the Pac-12 with 6.
Which state has the most Saints? That distinction belongs to California and Texas. Six players are from California (Thomas, Olave, Daniel Sorenson, Adam Prentic, Dwayne Washington and Carl Granderson) and six are from the state of Texas (Paulson Adebo, Marcus Davenport, Payton Turner, Andy Dalton, Erik McCoy and Zach Wood). Georgia is next with 5 and Florida has 4. Louisiana, Mississippi and Ohio have three each.
How they got here? Of the 53 players on the roster, 23 were drafted by the Saints. Ten of those 23 were first round draft picks. There are 4 second rounders, 6 third rounders, one fourth rounder, one sixth rounder and one seventh rounder. None of the Saints’ fifth round draft picks over the years are on the team. The Saints have 18 players who weren't drafted at all. The other 12 players were drafted by someone else and acquired by the Saints later.
New kids on the block: The Saints have four rookies on the roster. Three of them (Olave, Penning and Taylor) were drafted. The other is offensive lineman Lewis Kidd, who played last season at Montana State.
Star counting: If you’re a high school football player who isn’t satisfied with your recruiting ranking, here is some motivation for you. Of the 53 players on the Saints’ roster, only two had a 5-star composite ranking by 247 Sports coming out of high school. Those two players were Jameis Winston and Andrus Peat, both first round draft picks in the 2015 draft. (Winston was drafted by Tampa Bay with the No. 1 overall pick and Peat was drafted 13th overall by the Saints). Other than those two, the Saints roster is comprised of 18 players who were 4-star recruits and 18 players who were 3-star recruits; There are four players who were 2-star recruits (Demario Davis, Marcus Davenport, Payton Turner and Carl Granderson). The rest of the players didn’t have a recruiting ranking.
Couldn’t have even tossed on a polo, Drew?
So Maye was arrested for pointing a gun at a car full of minor girls in a road rage incident…. Cool
Our schedule is tough. All games we could lose and May not be favored in.
Bucs x 2
then the Steelers and Vikes won’t be easy.
Fun home schedule as a season tix holder though
Bucs, Bengals, LV, Rams and Ravens
Love this man
Think that was just the day Thomas needed. Get him back at it and being a key piece in the comeback. If he can get back on track then we may have something. OL was shitty in the first half, but they are good group and that will only improve. Landry was nice too and Olave is only going to get more comfortable.
Also Kamara was only 9 for 39 and had like 3 catches for like 9 yards. Being able to win with him being shut down by the D is a good sign to me. Find ways to get him touches and the offense should open up more.
Survived a bad Falcons team. I know we play the Bucs well, but we will see what we got next week. Got to get to Brady next week and avoid getting duped on his play actions. If we shut down the run that should make it harder.
I don’t see us beating the Bucs, but hopefully we can go blow for blow. Schedule is brutal this year.
It's the NFL anything can happen, and we do matchup well with the Buccs, and have had their number the last few games- just depends on how the OL holds up. We didn't really rush Mariota at all, played more contain - Brady we'll be able to rush the passer and I think we're better when we do that. Mobile QBs always give us fits. I'm more worried about how Fournette will run considering how much we got pushed around by Patterson.
Thomas looked great considering how long he was out - he catches the ball so well.
I want to find out what happened on our last drive - I know Landry was called out of bounds but everyone on the field assumed he was marked in. Who made the call to spike it, and why didn't anyone have our guys slow down there. Same thing on the 3rd down spike - no reason at all to rush and spike it with 24 seconds left and give the Falcons a chance.
For sure and we have the pieces to win any game. Just have to show up and hopefully staff is good at game planning.
Got awesome seats for me and the old man on Sunday. Going to be such a gross game.
So we suck?
I wanted us to hire Allen, but I don't think he's a good coach. Play calling has been bad on both sides of the ball, clock management has been bad, penalties have been bad (although much better this game outside of that one terrible drive). We lost to a bad Carolina team.
Honest to god haven’t given a shit to dedicate watching a full game this season yet. Half our team is dead, new coach who kinda sucks, no first round pick when we are going to finally be in the top 7 picks, and now our defense sucks. It’s really hard to give a fuck
Playing/carrying the tuba while marching has to be miserable
Do we have a first round pick this year or no?
No, Philly has it
Dang that's what I thought. Was about to say just tank.
tank for the 33rd pick
We'll probably get a 1st for Payton, but if our pick to Philly is top 10 that'll suck. A lot.
I think our D would be a lot better had we paid to keep Marcus and CJGJ at S instead of Maye & Mathieu...
I don't know what Allen needs to do to save his job, if he's 8-9 do you have any confidence in this team heading into next year? Do we blow it up in the offseason and let him coach a shit roster for one season and go for 2024 to start over.
Feel like this has been me with the Bears lately
Mt scrolling twitter during the game on the bench
Fuck we suck.
Time to blow it up. At least we got the Olave pick right
The eagles were shit just two years ago.
Jameis’s ghostwriter should probably sit this one out fam
what did it say?
Oh wow he deleted it. Bro has been tweeting up a storm since the Kayne and Kyrie shit came out.
