Joey Freshwater in Boca? Oh boy.
FAU is the head coaching destination for degenerate coordinators apparently.
recruiting in SFL is going to be really interesting between Kiffin, Strong, Richt, Fisher, McElwain, and Frost
You forgot Butch.
Will there be any recruits left for McElwain?
Oh geez. Can't wait to see the first Kiffin billboard pop up down here
So now every school in Florida has a recruiting heavy HC? Damn.
Also why the hell would he take that job?
Kiffin in Boca will be pure comedy
seems like bama OC > FAU HC
I mean we get it, FSU has things rolling right now, but when both UM and UF still have top 20 classes, they aren't doing too badly on the recruiting trail, nevermind that Frost is doing pretty well at UCF.
With all those guys, plus Butch at FIU, it is going to be really hard for any diamonds in the rough to slip through the cracks.
Rumors for a while have been that this was his last year at Bama. No clue why but it's been said for a while that he and Saban would go different directions after this season. He tried for the Houston and USF jobs but didn't get them. LSU OC was the other option so I guess he took FAU HC of LSU OC.
Man I guess no one else wanted to hire that dude as a HC.

I'm told Lane Kiffin was out at @AlabamaFTBL even if didn't get @FAU_Football HC as reported.Already short list of replacement OC candidates
Bc the bar's closing in 20 minutes. Better take what you can get.
I'm gonna go ahead and call bullshit on that one. Dude could have stayed there as long as he wanted.
That just makes it harder for OOS and schools like WVU who take at risk of qualify kids.
Never an option. Once they didn't renew his contract after last season it was pretty much curtains, I think.
FAU and FIU both with hires way above their pay grade. Impressive. Both will probably end up on probation but if I was a fan of either I'd take 2-3 years of not sucking for it.
Nah. I think 3 years was enough for both Nick and Lane.
Some Jets fans wanted him as a replacement for Bowles. Shows just how dumb people are.
I would need to see the pay but this is a really confusing jump to me.
FAU is not a stepping stone. You don't upset Gators/Noles with FAU and then get the job at Vandy.
You do well at FAU and then go to Bama to be OC.
Maybe Kiffen isn't as competitive as you guys think. He wants to be HC, make some money, and live on the coast. Not a bad life.
Huge get for the fightin' Sea Owls.
Del Boca Vista just got a new resident, hope Jerry's dad is ready.
i am out of the loop. why was he out at bama?
For what reason?
Seems like his offense is working pretty well these days.
You guys really need to take a look at Tony Franklin as his replacement.
I agree, they will be the ones hurt the most. But it will also be a bit harder for the big 3 to take those late blooming 2/3*'s because they will have been committed and courted by one of the smaller schools who have legitimate head coaches that can keep up in the recruiting game
Every game I've watched has included kiffin getting yelled at like 3 year old by Saban. That has to be it.p
Working under saban is apparently very taxing.
So you think someone who is committed to FIU is going to pass up on FSU/UF/Miami at the last moment? There may be a kid or two who do that but overall that's not likely
We'd heard rumors for the past year or so of the "the marriage is over" type stuff between Saban and Kiffin. The results have been stellar, but I think the clash of personalities eventually just became too big an issue, considering Saban's earnestness and obsessive personality compared to Lane's personal life going off the rails. Plus, Lane is still young (41) and thinks he can be an HC somewhere, but I completely understand the hesitation of a P5 or Houston-type Go5 team not wanting the Kiffin circus in town.
I'm saying that it will be harder to get that kid to flip with just an offer like you are currently able to do.
Can you imagine becoming the CEO of a collegiate football program because your current job was too stressful?
Actually this move might make total sense if you think about it from that viewpoint. It's not like they expect anything at FAU.
This is a common refrain I've heard. It was a big reason we didn't get Dabo as an assistant when Saban first arrived.
Kiffin does not exactly come across as a Saban kind of guy.
Think Joey Freshwater did a little too much freshwatering; if Bama wanted to keep him they would Lane probably fucked it up off the field.
Seems hard to believe Lane couldn't come back if he wanted
Pays well but it sure as hell looks like a terrible working environment.
Jimbo aims to be like Saban in this regard & dudes HATE working for Jimbo so I can only imagine how hard it is to work for the real deal in Saban.
I mean I think it has more to do with just not working under an overbearing saban that chews his ass out on the sidelines on a weekly basis.
You're just making stuff up now. It's because coach swinney had a commitment to a prospect ) it may have been spiller, in fact) at the time and wanted to honor it. He said he didn't want to be one of those coaches that jumps at the firstsight of a better opportunity. I'm not gonna go dig for the interview, but coach swinney has said this.
I'd laugh my ass off if they promoted lox instead of sark
Don't take this thread away from freshwaters switch to saltwater
I'm happy Kirby liked working for Saban
Nothing positive about not wanting to work as hard as Saban requires
They won't promote Sark because he was blackout drunk at the SECCG walk through
