Malik seems to have a high football IQ, but when he's on the field, he looks like he's constantly running scared. Also, JB is an absolutely terrible game day coach. He needs a real OC
Only on episode 6 so I will probably eat my words later but JB seems much better person than Buddy. Buddy doesn’t give a shit about anything but himself. The meeting with Bruce after he was about to leave is enough for me to know that jb really does care about the kids. I wouldn’t piss on buddy if he was on fire, I don’t feel near as much animosity towards jb Oh but he absolutely fucking sucks with x’s & o’s and pretty much any thing to do with coaching.
I have a hard time believing jb is a good person. He said he had 6 jobs in so cal in 6 years because he couldn't keep one, then left garden City before he even coached a game. His two years at independence is his longest stint in like a 9ish year college coaching career. That's not because he's a good dude
I never said he was a good guy? There’s about 10 miles between buddy and a good guy... I think jb is somewhere in the middle of that.
Call it how you see it but I don't think there's anything about jb or his track record that indicates he's a much better person than anyone who isn't like a child molester or something
Finished the season.. watching Henry with his dad in the last episode at the breakfast table was sad as hell.. he doesn’t want to play and wants to make his dad happy
Just finished. Started out loving JB, then thought he was a fucking cunt probably in episode 5 or so, ended up loving him again by the end. Thoroughly enjoyed this season. Congrats bertwing on your RB
My theory is that he bought a house for peanuts in north Long Beach Beach near Compton 15 years ago and refers to it as his “Beach house”.
I enjoyed the season though I didn't find any particular player to be all that likable. I think there's usually at least one that I really find myself rooting for, but this season I'm not sure if that was the case. Thought it was going to be Buckmaster due to his upbringing but he mostly seemed meh to me. Don't even need to comment on Henry or Kingston Davis (though I do kinda feel bad for Henry). Rakeem Boyd seems pretty damn talented and he didn't do anything too glaringly dumb iirc. The bunny mask was great.
Also think Gooden could be really good if he could just fucking control himself. Will be interesting to see if he plays at all for UT.
Good summary and can be said for the entire show. Wish they would have given Nino more screen time. Also feel bad for Malik and not because of his dad. Not getting into that whole thing though. Kid is just mentally fucked and I feel bad for him.
Malik is such a bitch but I ended up feeling bad for him for all the reasons mentioned in this thread. His response to the kid saying he wished he had a dad showing up to games was almost as sad as the initial comment, he just said in his mopey voice “yeh I mean he just came back in my life a couple years ago but we straight.”
Yeah but he's also 5 years out of high school. He was good on this season but I can't imagine how big of a shit head he used to be
I agree. Seemed disingenuous, but to each their own. The whole I don’t do tests or quizzes but just have you stay here till you get it right stuff just seemed a little too look at me.
Y'all really watched that and thought she wasn't actually interested in helping those kids? She's just been teaching in bum fuck Kansas for years waiting on the Netflix crew to show up?
Tried to be on camera as much as possible? How can you possibly think you know that? Maybe the producers found out she was the only one who cared about the kids so they decided to use her to reproduce the Wagner role and filmed her class?
