Also, it seemed like the only real problem child on the team was Joe Hampton. I know there are obviously more football players than basketball, so you are going to have more issues all around. But we really didn’t see discipline issues outside of any kid but Hampton, and I don’t remember any real school issues. Looked like a lot of the kids saw this as an opportunity to succeed and move on
My original post said I cared about their home/school lives. Anything more with the school/academic side would have been fine with me as well.
We can agree to disagree on that. Some of the previous seasons went a little deeper into the academic stuff and I always enjoyed that. But I also don’t need an advisor/tutor to basically be the star like the Mississippi lady was. This is mostly a moot point. They’ve only got eight episodes to fit everything in and the latest season may have been my favorite one.
Just finished and it exceeded my expectations. My favorite part was when they role played Mosley at the retreat. We did that in college with our coaches. Those are some moments I’ll never forget and some of the times I think I laughed the hardest with my teammates.
yea cause it’s annoying as fuck when someone is imposing their views on you when you’re not asking for it. I’m sure that made a lot of guys uncomfortable, made me uncomfortable watching it. That’s not to say he’s a bad guy by any means, but he should tone that down. I know if I did that, or preached atheism to my students I would most likely get fired.
So he signed for next year? I looked after I finished and it didn’t look like he was on this years team..
Dude couldn't hack it with all the support in the world. How he plans on handling this will be interesting. He's also like 220 pounds now from not working out due to the epilepsy
I'm sure this was strategic. A lot of synergies in the whiskey distillation and pitbull breeding games.
My personal favorite. With less players they’re able to feature damn near everyone and there’s more games to follow
Now that I think about it, I think the only season I could’ve done without is the one California football season they did. I enjoyed it just fine, but it wasn’t as compelling as the others.
Coach Beam at Laney is a Bay Area legend I loved that season, I found it great to watch a man of character I can’t watch those other MAGA psychopaths
Buddy was just straight up abusive toward the players. I didn't have a ton of interest in the show after watching him
Per his Twitter feed, he's out of the pitbull game. Seems like one of his dogs may have attacked something and he had to put it down and now he has to re-home the other two.
btw if you remember the guy on staff who took over when Brown was fired and then led ICC to an 8-2 record and won the conference, Kiyoshi Harris, he finally made it to the big time. seemed like a decent dude from what we saw on the show and he's spent twenty years in JUCO bouncing around, so I'm happy for him. https://broncosports.com/sports/football/roster/coaches/kiyoshi-harris/717
Have any of these kids been benefitted from this series or made good? I've seen a few episodes and looked into it, but haven't been a follower
