all three UCLA players thanked Trump today at their press conference, as did Steve Alford. Non story. They did what they should have done.
You said Chargers were dropped. I made a joke about the football team the Los Angeles Chargers losing games.
didn't click, but i believe that is the dude that is in prison for throwing a single punch when in reality an object hit the victim.
In self defense. They tried to extort his family in order to get charges dropped. Read those things in another article
Pretty much...altho I think this story says that the guy already had his eye injury. It says the video in the bar showed nothing happened as well, but the Chinese have this 99.2% conviction rate so he's probably fucked.
I realize the flaws in my argument but let's assume China wants to make sure their residents never fuck up again right? well, 12 months in jail and then a life time ban/deportation will do it for this particular criminal. You won't be dealing with him when he gets released. Let him go. If 10 years on a petty theft is their standard punishment for chinese people staying in china then so be it for the chinese. At some point these cruel punishments make no sense for a guy that is leaving China. I'm not suggesting this for serious offenses like murder - but a long bid for a small crime on a guy inevitably getting deported is bs imo, double standard or not.
Antiquated laws, outrageous prison terms flawed corrupt legal system. Yup sign me up to go visit those places.
Lonzo Ball was benched for the entire 4th quarter for the 2nd game in a row. Had a nice line before that though; 2 points on 1-9 shooting, 0-6 from 3, 2 assists, 5 rebounds. #BBB
LaVar Ball downplayed his son's shoplifting incident in China as well as U.S. president Donald Trump's involvement in getting his son and two other UCLA players back to the United States earlier this week. "Who?" Ball told ESPN when asked about Trump's involvement in the matter. "What was he over there for? Don't tell me nothing. Everybody wants to make it seem like he helped me out." "As long as my boy's back here, I'm fine," Ball told ESPN. "I'm happy with how things were handled. A lot of people like to say a lot of things that they thought happened over there. Like I told him, 'They try to make a big deal out of nothing sometimes.' I'm from L.A. I've seen a lot worse things happen than a guy taking some glasses. My son has built up enough character that one bad decision doesn't define him. Now if you can go back and say when he was 12 years old he was shoplifting and stealing cars and going wild, then that's a different thing. "Everybody gets stuck on the negativity of some things and they get stuck on them too long. That's not me. I handle what's going on and then we go from there."
I started writing a "this is insane" type post but then realized it's actually not. Someone online probably predicted it once they got arrested.
the president of the united states sees lavar ball as enough of an equal to merit insulting him on the record. we deserve this. all of it.
He really needs a handler almost as much as Trump. Just someone to say, "Hey, I'm not telling you what to do but this network is on your side buddy." This is my favorite thread since Aaron Hernandez.
I have no clue on what trump did/didn't do, but that was not a good look on Lavar. Wouldnt have been too hard to actually articulate why trump's tweets are insane but Lavar couldn't even do that.
