Had no idea that that Lonzo was shooting 41% from the FT line this year. How can a PG be that freaking bad? Shaq's worst year was like 42% and his career average is right at 53%.
I can see it now, the Toon Squad is getting killed at halftime when King James goes to rally the troops who look defeated. Cut to the locker room door opening with LaVar Ball saying " You scrubs are playing like a bunch of small ballers out there. Here drink these if you want to achieve Big Baller status like my sons!" Cut to a montage of the 3 Ball brother's shooting unnecessary 3's and break away layups with "Wanna Be A Baller" by Lil' Tony playing in the background.

Who'd of thunk that Crazy shady people might screw over other crazy shady people. that family deserves all they get.
he is the very worst free throw shooter in the nba with at least 40 ft attempts, worse than guys like hassan whiteside. Another guy who is embarrasingly high on that list is austin rivers at 52,6% and the 5th worst FT shooter of some volume
Some of that is just variance. He's only attempted 119 free throws as a pro. He attempted 98 at UCLA and shot 67% on those. So unless he's developed some Nick Anderson-like mental issue at the free throw line, it's likely his true free throw percentage is quite a bit higher than what he's shown so far in the NBA. Edit to add that he also shot 77% on 26 attempts in Summer League and went 2 out of 3 in preseason games.
That's bad for any position as far as I'm concerned. You don't want a 67% FT shooter on the floor in a late-game fouling situation. Only 6 of 22 qualified centers shot worse than 67% from the foul line, only 1 power forward out of 23, only 1 out of 22 small forwards (LeBron who is normally a lot better than that), 1 out of 22 shooting guards, and 2 out of 30 PGs.
i'm not sure what's worse between a 6'6 point guard who doesn't draw fouls and one who shoots 40% from the line
If his name was Lamelo Jackson he’d be top 5 on everyone’s list. He’s huge, he’s got great vision, and he can shoot. He’s already stopped being the little jackass he was at Chino Hills shooting from beyond half court and became a much better leader and playmaker at Spire. He doesn't play defense, but that hasn’t stopped others from getting drafted high.
If he comes into the league lazy on defense, along with being big ass mouth Lavar's son, he'll get eaten alive.
And how is anyone supposed to know if hes gotten any better when his dad handpicked his opponents and pulls the team off the court when he gets pissed off.
He went to a prep school last year that Lavar had nothing to do with picking the opponents or coaching the team. They played big teams and were supposed to play other big teams like Oak Hill that bitched out. Now he’s putting up 25+ in the Drew League against grown men and pros.
One season of prep school vs how many seasons of his dad controlling his team? And I'd bet money Lavar still had influence on this team. He ain't letting his kids go to any team he can't have influence on.
Kid is 17 and you think his shot is permanently broken? After a year in Australia's NBL he'll get drafted
Jennings slipped from #1 to #10 playing Euroleague. Australia b-ball is an order of magnitude lower quality than that and Ball was never the same level of prospect. After you factor in the Lavar sideshow discount, I could definitely see him falling out of the first round. There’s too much alternative talent without that baggage.
if he falls out of the first round he has only his dad to blame. I'm sure the NBA would rather evaluate him against high d1 college players (even if only the pac12) than against this hodge podge of prep and overseas pro teams he's going against now. he was never going top 5....that jumper needs work
Jennings did not drop from #1 to 10, he was ranked #1 by a couple of scouting services and was drafted 10th, but he did not fall to 10 because he went the Euro route, 8 out of the 9 players drafted in front of him were not in his high school class.
think it was Jonathon Givony on ESPN Radio the other day that was saying Lamelo in the lottery next year is actually a realistic possibility
