A bit surprised ND took the top seed, but the selection committee clearly valued head to head as a tie breaker. ND pays the winner of Albany/Cornell in the quarters. UNC has to go through Maryland to make their first final four in 25 years. Denver has to go through duke to get back to championship weekend.
Yeah, I was actually liking the idea of being the 2 seed because everyone had Albany as an 8 seed/playing the 8 seed. Think they're able to score on Albany, but as always, that Albany offense is scary as hell.
All games on ESPNU Saturday Albany at Cornell at 11 AM CT Yale at Maryland at 1:30 CT Towson at ND at 4 CT OSU at Duke at 6:30 CT Sunday Hopkins at UVA at noon CT Brown at Denver at 2 CT Colgate at UNC at 4:15 CT Marist at Cuse at 6:30 CT Go Albany and Colgate!!
And 3 straight from Albany. Showing why most thought they were the better team Edit make it 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11
So please spoiler anything related to the Albany score. I need to see the replay Towson up 3-1 on ND in the 2nd
So I'm watching the replay of Albany's game and oh my god 11-3 at the half?? I bet Kleenex stock does well when Thompson is playing. That Fields kid is so smooth too If ND deserved the top seed they certainly didn't deserve to face this generational talent
Given I am fuck Duke lacrosse at this point (not due to the rape, but cuz we beat them in the regular season then they beat us in the postseason every year), I endorse this message.
Been a crazy weekend for lax. My old high school team was in town for the state semi finals and I got to go watch them play as well as all the college stuff thats been on. God, kids at the HS level are so developed now its crazy. They have all been playing from such a younger age (at least in Texas) and its really apparent.
Yeah i saw the same thing out on CA from when I played to even just a couple years after. We always had a kid or 2 who had been playing for a long time, but then we had teams full of kids who had been playing since elementary school. It's why you see more and more kids from out west making plays in college. Fun to watch
Hopkins and UVA getting started on ESPNU. Hopkins up 1-0 early. I actually think Hopkins wins this one - i was just never impressed with UVA this year
@TerenceFoy: [email protected] is on a highlight reel tear, lead 7-1 after Q1. This time it's Shack. #SCTop10 http://twitter.com/TerenceFoy/status/597454686111801344/video/1
out @ Ensworth I believe. May try to watch a couple games since I live within walking distance. A couple Nashville kids playing today, one for Denver and one for Hopkins I was really glad to see Hopkins destroy UVA. UVA didn't beat an ACC opponent and got better treatment than Albany Brown just got on the board to make it 3-1 with 4+ to play in the first quarter @ Denver
Not sure Colgate can stay with this Carolina team. Feel like today is the day of blowouts with this and Syracuse tonight
fuck yeah 3 straight goals by Colgate makes it 4-3 Raiders very late in the 1st and that's the score through 1
I'm stupid. I forgot the quarterfinals are at neutral sites. Was all "should I drive to South Bend for ND/Albany?" but my best bet would be a deal on Southwest as it's in Denver hopefully The Milkman will get high and go see Thompson play for me
Cuse with a 20-8 W over Marist Rice with 4 goals and 5 assists. Donahue with 3 goals and 2 assists. Jordan Evans with 5 goals on 7 shots May 16th: Albany/ND on ESPNU at 3 (presumably ET) and OSU/Denver on ESPNU at 5:30 (presumably ET) May 17th: Hopkins/Cuse on ESPN2 at noon (presumably ET) and UNC/Maryland on ESPN2 at 2:30 (presumably ET)
Yeah those are ET. They made it confusing by listing the start times with local times, so it was 1 and 330, I was very confused. But yeah, 3 and 530 ET Saturday
For sure. My school got its first All State player 3 years before I played there. Now they have 2 All Americans on the same varsity team. Nuts
Haha i wish the game was here! Would love to see them play here. Unfortunately, of the top 4 seeds, ND looked the worst and is the most vulnerable next weekend. But if we're going to lose, might as well be to the best player of this generation. I made fun of Hopkins a couple weeks ago, and still don't think they beat Syracuse, but I think that's a closer game than I thought it would be a week ago. MD and Carolina should be fun, although I think Carolina is obviously playing better than MD right now. Does the pressure to break the drought + playing a virtual road game in Annapolis end up being too much for Carolina? Would be hilarious if they didn't make it, but I just don't r it. And I think Denver playing at home, in a revenge game they never should have lost in the first place gets them to championship weekend past osu. Personally hoping we get osu ND and Carolina Hopkins in the final 4, fully aware that's not the popular picks.
ACC men's lacrosse tournament next season will be played in ... Atlanta. Well, technically, Kennesaw, Ga.
@AnishESPN 31m31 minutes ago #NCAALax The "Annapolis 4" have combined for 89 semifinal appearances and 26 titles if you include Cuse's vacated 1990 championship (CTD) @AnishESPN 31m31 minutes ago #NCAALax "Denver 4" have 0 titles and 7 combined trips to Champ. Weekend. Prior to 2010, the group had ONE semifinal appearance. ND in 2001.

Oh thats right. Nice thanks guys. I got to meet Gary once at a clinic our team had. Dude was so sick at lax, even as an old guy. The stick was like an extension of his will
