Syracuse had a lead and scored a goal to go up two but was incorrectly ruled a save. ND scored on the fast break and scored 8 straight to take control. Phew Syracuse is a year away from being a big time problem for the rest of the ACC.
top 5 as of tonight duke :puke: virginia notre dame cornell . . . hopkins(?) maryland(?) villanova(?) really weird after the top 4
Huge weekend in ACC and b1g lacrosse Not to mention Maryland Ohio state tonight at 8 on btn, Princeton Syracuse tomorrow at noon, and penn state Hopkins tomorrow night at 7 on btn.
Virginia has played in 3 straight bad weather games now. They’ve got to be sick of rain, cold, and snow
Maryland beating uva is quickly becoming the most surprising result of the year. Maryland has been awful since, about to drop to 1-2 in the b1g if this result holds. Too many injuries to key players and no prime offensive threat seems to be dooming then the further into the season we get
Down goes #1 for the third straight week. Virginia dominates ND, Duke dominates Virginia, ND dominates Duke. Cornell losing to Harvard came out of nowhere. Ivy is just a huge mess at this point
This has been an incredible game in state college. Hopkins was up 4 or 5-0, now down 7-6 at the half. Most competitive b1g in years, and that’s with osu blowing that game against Maryland last night
Woah Hopkins had a minute man up with 75 seconds to go and basically didn’t get a shots off. Headed to OT. great day of lacrosse
Oh no jhu what a win for psu. Top 5 on Monday should be Irish Duke/uva UVA/Duke Maryland (blah) Penn state
Army Cornell and Duke Virginia both tomorrow at 12. Double screen afternoon Carolina Syracuse in Maryland and the B1G round robin continue this weekend as well. No idea who will do what in the b1g but excited to watch the games.
Virginia has made this a game! Back to 10-7. Cornell Army has been close all day. 7-6 with about 2 to go in the 3rd
In one of the more inexplicable losses as you'll see in D3, Lynchburg lost at Randolph-Macon 13-9. Randolph-Macon has been blown out by every good team they've played, and Lynchburg hasn't lost to a team outside of the ODAC traditional top 4 since 1998. They hadn't lost to Randolph-Macon since 1993 and had only 4 previous losses to R-MC.
Carolina losing to Syracuse is a back breaker for them. Still two chances at ND to close the season and a win in 1 or both maybe offsets this one, but that was tough for their tournament hopes.
Also I believe Ohio state is officially eliminated from at large contention for the tournament. Can still make it, but they have to win the b1g tournament. Big step back season for them, especially with Michigan having their best team ever
Michigan currently up 4-2 on PSU after 1. Crazy to see the improvement in Michigan over the course of the season.
It’s insane. Only other game I watched closely of yours was the ND game and I know ND is doing it to a lot of teams this year, but it was a blowout and seemed like the same old Michigan. This offense is legit and the team is legitimately good. I hate it bc it makes life more difficult for ND in the long run but it’s awesome to see a program built from the ground up over the years
Figured the program would bounce back after the injuries destroyed last years team. But this has been really impressive. Fun team to watch
What a game in College Park tonight!! Hopkins lost 22-7 in the regular season last year and came back and beat Maryland 12-11 in the road tonight. Penn State is your #1 seed and Hopkins the 2. Maryland Rutgers and Michigan Ohio State in the first round of the BTT next week. Only team that would kind of surprise me if they won the tournament would be Ohio State, so I’m very intrigued as I’ve been all year. ND took care of Carolina today, which was good to see. Go on the road to face Virginia next Sunday so I’m curious to see how that goes. It’s possible that UVA is just a really bad matchup for ND since theyre the only team that’s beat ND in the last 17 games. Conference tournaments start up next week with full swing in 2. Excited for the rest of the regular season and tournaments
This is something that is only cool to me, but the UNC ND game yesterday was very fun on a personal level. My high school from CA had 8 guys between the two teams, including 3 starters. One had a hat trick and he was covered primarily by a former high school teammate. The sport is obviously dominated by the east coast so it’s fun when guys from my high school from a non traditional lacrosse community are making impacts on the biggest stage.
Michigan beat OSU and now gets PSU next week. It feels like UM could sneak in the tournament with a win over PSU though I’m not holding my breath.
