8-1 lead for the Pioneers at halftime. 6 different DU players have scored Baptiste 10/11 on face-offs....lol
jesus ND has been absolutely terrible I know Corrigan is the only coach worth a shit in ND history, but at some point will Irish fans get restless with him continually running out teams that are almost entirely reliant on one or two (maybe three?) offensive weapons instead of fielding offenses that are more dynamic? down 11-1 late in the third
16-4 final as Denver advances to their fifth semifinal in the last seven years just complete domination today Cuse vs Towson Sunday @ 12 PM ET (ESPN2) and Albany vs UMD @ 2:30 PM ET (ESPN2)
Towson's defensive midfield is relentless, making it very hard for Cuse to get any decent looks Joe Seider has 3 goals on 4 shots for them 7-2 with 3+ left in the first half
holy fucking shit that rip by Seider was absolutely insane 8-2 on as good of a deep shot as you will see. Just a laser into the upper 90 that's the score at the half
Was fortunately busy with wedding festivities yesterday, so I got to miss the Denver game. Rough weekend for ACC right now. Gonna be very interesting to see if cuse can make their patented run in the 2nd half.
this Cuse senior class could be the first one since 1982 not to make it to championship weekend over the course of their careers 8-2 with 6+ left in the third quarter
fucking Towson beats Syracuse 10-7 to advance to Championship Weekend!!!! Their first trip to the semifinals since 2001 Ohio State or Towson will play for a national championship
Alright laxfags help me out. Who are the candidates for the Michigan job? I assume the Towson coach would be a candidate now.
RIT shockingly murdered Wesleyan 22-9 in the semifinals while Salisbury hangs on to beat Denison 12-11.
man fuck 6-2 UMD with 2+ left in the first quarter. Albany tied it 2-2 after falling behind 2-0, but now the Terps have rattled off 4 unanswered probably not gonna be seeing the upset today
I'm very disappointed you laxfags won't engage in a discussion about the biggest job opening in the history of the sport.
unfortunately none of my college athletics connections are tied into the Michigan lacrosse coaching search so it would just be a guess but if Michigan can lure a head coach away from Loyola, Albany, Towson, Marquette, etc. then they should be ecstatic I would be surprised if they end up hiring a current assistant coach
This isn't FB or BKT ball. Nobody is leaving a traditional east coast power sport to coach in the Midwest. Loyola,Hopkins, Towson can recruit way better in their areas. It would be a struggle for UM to go into the DMV and beat out those teams for talent. Of course I said JH would never leave the NFL for his Alumni so I wouldn't rule out anything. If it's me and I'm a HC in an established East coast program there is no way I'm touching a team with out a solid recruiting base. JMO
just because the state of Michigan isn't filled with top tier recruits doesn't mean they won't be able to successfully recruit in the hot beds in the Maryland/NY/Long Island areas lacrosse recruits are attracted to elite academic institutions with big party scenes. Michigan checks both of those boxes. They will get good recruits there so long as the institution commits to giving the coaches the resources they need (and it sounds like that will be the case)
I'll take your word for it as you are the lax ace of the TMB. I watched a Michigan Lax game on earlier this season and they play lax like old people fuck.
They'd do better than you'd think in the MIAA. When I coached football in that league everyone was stoked Michigan was getting a team. Its a high academic conference too. But didn't I hear on the broadcast today how Ohio State built their team on Canadians? Seems like Michigan would have a base there, and for some reason they've always pulled students from Long Island, which is a recruiting hotbed, right?
This where I agree with you - that was the key to PSU's rise in prominence in hockey. Not to mention Pegulas money.
nah, just the person who started this thread however, I am very confident Michigan could become really good in lacrosse and have success recruiting the traditional hot beds just based on the makeup of their student body and the culture around their campus
I don't see them luring a top flight HC from the following programs but an assistant is possible plus the dude from The Duke scandal would be almost perfect. Denver Hopkins Loyola Cuse ND UNC UMD After that sky's the limit, I'm sure the dude from a place like Albany would listen if contacted.
Great game. What a run for Towson and now Ohio State has a rematch against a team they've beaten this year.
Hopefully UMD wins, if not it would be the equivalent of two Canadian baseball teams playing in the World Series
They also have the resources to pay a top coach to leave the East Coast. For example, Ohio State is paying its coach $360,000 this year.
