My best friends team started practicing yesterday. Hope to be able to work a few games at my Alma mater this spring. Like actual spring, not this February lax bullshit because I’m not dealing with that weather anymore.
no official rankings yet (i believe), but uva and penn state are the two i've seen at the top the most. maryland, yale, penn, notre dame, duke will all be up there as well whenver those official rankings are released.
First games of the year today. #North Carolina Tarheels with a blowout of Colgate #Duke Blue Devils taking on #Air Force Falcons on accn right now
weekend preview from US Lax https://www.uslaxmagazine.com/colle...-to-watch-for-this-weekend-in-mens-lacrosse-1 Princeton @ UVA on ACC Network Yale @ PSU on BTN both at 12 PM ET tomorrow
yeah you are by far the truest fan on this board. Always takes me a little bit of time to wake up to it which is a shame Nanticoke was held scoreless in Albany's lone game so far this season, a 19-10 L to Cornell. He's listed at 6'1 248 pounds which seems crazy. You can watch him on WatchESPN tomorrow vs Drexel @ 1 PM ET. Last year was a rollercoaster for him. 50 goals in 19 games as a freshman to only 25 in 12 as a sophomore. Hoping to see him bounce back big this year
Lots of big matchups in D3 today Lynchburg at Cabrini Gettysburg at Salisbury Hampden-Sydney at Christopher Newport Nazareth at Springfield Ohio Wesleyan at Illinois Wesleyan York at Stevenson Washington and Lee at Washington College RIT at Bates St. John’s Fisher at Ithaca Stevens at Dickinson Nazareth at Springfield Williams at Skidmore
Yale with a 12-10 W over PSU Princeton with a 16-12 W over UVA. Nice for the Ivy League. UVA's win streak snapped at 10 games
Great weekend coming up Ohio state Cornell ND Maryland Denver Carolina Penn state vs Penn and urn gets started with Duke Richmond tonight
York at Lynchburg this Saturday is going to be a real hoot in the D3 world. I might stop by for a little bit but it’s going to be cold as hell. Haven’t seen Brandon Child’s (York HC) since he was a grad assistant at Lynchburg like 15 years ago. My interactions with him and the other lax grad assistants back then (I worked in the athletic department) are one of the reasons why I first started watching lax in the first place!
Richmond took Duke to OT but lost 16-15. what a game. duke going through their normal early season struggles and of course they'll figure it all out by the end of the year unfortunately
didn't realize they were renovating the carrier dome. tonight is the last game inside for cuse this season
Some of the best lax schools in D3 are either shutting down or going all online and sending students home, like Tufts, Amherst, Middlebury. RPI and Skidmore very likely going all online. The NESCAC, arguably the premier conference, is cancelling league play and the conference tournament. In the non-D3 world, Bucknell, Harvard, Duke, Cornell, Princeton, Stony Brook, Towson are all either shutting down or going all online and having students leave campus Nonessential events at Ohio State are suspended until April 20. Maryland going online only thru at least April 10. Yale going only thru at least April 5.
Tufts has been committing first degree murder this spring too. If a D3 tournament even happens, will be wild to see it without any NESCAC teams
Feel awful for the seniors. Cornell, Yale, Princeton all had legitimate chances to compete for a national title
In all likelihood these seniors will get a one time waiver to compete as a grad student at their current institution like the Ivy League does for medical redshirts but you could also see a lot of grad transfers
i'd throw in Penn as well, once they got healthy. since princeton was my first (non-ND) lax school, it sucks seeing sowers and this princeton team not have a shot. i hope they all come back, 3 ivy's and ND make it to the final four and ND wins it all next year
I don’t think so. They were likely to make a change in the next couple of years (unless next year was a final four run) so this is just slightly ahead of schedule. Hopkins isn’t reeling from the financial loss of football or basketball like some others.
Congrats to #Duke Blue Devils on winning next years national championship (assuming there’s a season) They also have the “lebron James of lacrosse” coming in as a freshman next year. So yeah...
